  1. Yes. Not that it looks like it makes a difference
  2. Does anyone know how big of an area the commercial broadcast will cover? Is it just Rochester or will it spread through upstate New York? As for promoting local shows, that would definitely be a cool idea. I wonder how difficult it would be. Toyota immediately comes to mind in a situation like this. I see their commercials all the time in different areas. Just the same general video everywhere and then the local dealer information is added depending on the area. Seems relatively easy to do. Not that I know much about that stuff
  3. That is pretty much the best bet. There is no way of explaining over the internet. I can't explain it in person half the time.
  4. That commercial made me think about how there aren't a lot of shakos left in DCA Great commercial!
  5. Move Endicott, NY to Binghamton, NY Better, bigger facilities. Only problem was parking which doesnt really matter here.
  6. I'll throw one in I guess Rule Change: Reinstatement of Prelims Competition for World Class Rationale: With 70+ corps competing this season, I would like to see another round to give some of the lower tiered corps one more chance to advance. I think if the total World Class roster goes beyond 50 corps, the breakdown should be like this: Prelims - All Corps Quarterfinals - Top 40 Semifinals - Top 20 Finals - Top 12 Submitted by: Roselle Park Conquistadors *Note-I cannot recall why the prelims was eliminated in the first place. If this proposal is completely out of line for whatever reason, feel free to omit it from vote.
  7. So here is a historical perspective. This list includes scores from 1965 - 1980 to better account for the tick system. 1) 1977 Long Island Sunrisers - 94.150 2) 1977 Hawthorne Caballeros - 94.100 3) 1977 Reading Buccaneers - 91.550 4) 1971 New York Skyliners - 91.500 5) 1971 Yankee Rebels - 90.750 6(T) 1972 Connecticut Hurricanes - 88.200 6(T) 1972 Rochester Crusaders - 88.200 8) 1977 Rhode Island Matadors - 87.800 9) 1975 Rochester Phoenix - 85.200 10) 1980 Westshoremen - 84.900
  8. That's my thought. I can't even think back to it because I didn't go to finals. I stayed back at the hotel after we didn't make it in. I'll add the 79 to the list.
  9. They are just trying to figure out how to ship it now.
  10. Sorry about Sun, it was 1988. As for the Grenadiers in 2004, I am going by what the DCA site said for finals. According to them it was a 75. (Although CorpsReps has it as 79. I will fix it later.
  11. So in keeping with all of the analysis on DCP this summer, I constructed the top 10 for both Open Class and Class A based on their highest score ever achieved at FINALS. I'm pretty sure I got the highest score for each corps. Correct me if I'm wrong. Open Class 1) 2002 Syracuse Brigadiers - 98.600 2) 2005 Reading Buccaneers - 98.450 3) 1998 Empire Statesmen - 97.900 4) 1995 Hawthorne Caballeros - 97.700 5(t) 1990 Bushwackers - 96.900 5(t) 1996 Westshoremen - 96.900 7) 2008 Minnesota Brass, Inc. - 96.513 8) 1988 Long Island Sunrisers - 96.360 9) 2008 Connecticut Hurricanes - 94.913 10) 1990 Rochester Crusaders - 94.000 A Class 1) 2007 Long Island Sunrisers - 83.988 2) 2001 CorpsVets - 83.750 3) 2007 Govenaires - 83.188 4) 2008 Alliance - 82.750 5) 2007 SoCal Dream - 82.513 6) 2008 Fusion Core - 82.463 7) 2002 New York Skyliners - 80.150 8) 2004 Kingston Grenadiers - 79.850 9) 2008 Chops, Inc. - 79.225 10) 2003 Heat Wave - 78.600
  12. It's easier and easier to provide music in whatever clef you read in now. It's just a push of the button in the music software. You could probably just write your parts into Finale and transpose them if you didn't want anything to do with bass clef or do like supersop said and write it out. It becomes second nature in no time.
  13. DCP gives me a headache anymore. Facebook is now my site of choice

  15. Not a standstill. More of a sitstill really: In 2002 at championships we got to the stadium and the rain decided to fall. We didn't feel like wandering off down the hill at Lackawanna in the rain to warm up so the hornline sat on the bus and ran through a couple of our show songs. Gathered a reasonable sized crowd outside of the bus so it kinda felt like a performance...
