  1. SDCA will not effect a corps' involvement with DCI or DCA. The SDCA season will try not to interfere with the DCI and DCA season 2009 SHOW DATES The show dates are as follows(click on the date for more information): March 21,"Drums In The North" Menominee High School, Menominee, Michigan,Time 1:00 PM March 22, "Drums into the Twilight",Riverside Elem. School, Fond Du Lac Wisconsin, Time 1:00 PM May 2, New Lenox, IL May 3, Batavia, IL June 13, Sparta, WI June 14, Verona, WI July 18, McHenry, IL August 8, Momence, IL August 9, Mendota, IL August 16, Springfield, IL State Fair October 25, Sycamore, IL Exact locations and times will follow confirmations That's from the website. Don't some of those date clash directly with DCI and DCA?
  2. I'll have to check with the boosters. Thanks though I'll PM ya.
  3. I think it can be done except for out west. Can't have a Regional with two corps.
  4. Was there a judging system in place befoe the tick system? If so what was it and how did ya'll handle it?
  5. I hear what you are saying and I am all for entertainment and separate identities. My biggest fear is that DCA will end up falling behind to a point there it is truly no more than the circuit of yesteryear. With DCI, WGI and hell even BOA (sorry I’ll say 7 hail maries for using the cursed circuit name later) pushing forward the way they are, DCA will have to do one of three choices… 1) Do back to the VFW days and ways (I don’t think that would go over very well with the new blood coming in) 2) Go full entertainment (and by that I mean like HSBC style) 3) Play eternal catch-up (rehashing Jr. corps shows from 1-10 years ago) I for one would rather see DCA becoming innovators (or @ least staying with the pack). Then again, there is a limit to innovation. (IE – WW, strings instruments, electronic non-synth keyboards, etc). What really makes me is the majority of folks really put DCA over as being for the fans and (in a way) by the fans. That is all well and good, I admit there is something about seeing the crowd going bananas for you… high 5-ing each other, in tears, and the lot. Nevertheless, at the end of the day the majority of the time the corps that pulls a DCI (in show design, technique, cleanliness, etc) is the one going home with the gold. I could go on but that is for another time and another debate. There has to be a balance though. I think the following quote says it best. “Without tradition, art is a flock of sheep without a shepherd. Without innovation, it is a corpse.” – Winston Churchill
  6. That's the current plan. We have alot of booster dads with alot of time on their hands

  9. *starts to look over this thead* ... *starts to open his mouth or better yet, look for some STFU like memes* ah the heck with it, I'm going go find some WGI forums.... *leaves*
  10. IMHO I think the Percussion Caucus made a huge FUBAR by shooting down the AMPS rule…. But hey that just may be me.
  11. Just wondering if the majority of the AA corps actually go though an audition process or is it more (for lack of a better word) informal. If you don't mind (or you're allowed) feel free to say who does have actual auditions in the DCA world.
  12. Wow Todd and K4 coming out of retirement? Awesome. Now if I could only find 4 more mallet players to come out with me.... 12-15 in the Renegades Front Ens F.T.M.F.W
