  5. I am looking at buying some new front ensemble equipment (possibly ALOT of it) and I have been milling around the different websites for decent prices. So far, the best I have come across are WWBW and Musician's Friend. I was wondering if anyone else knew of any other discounted or saver sites where I could stretch the old funds as much as possible w/o getting bad (or no) customer service or bad gear. Thanks!
  6. Here's the book we use. Harmony and Voice Leading by Edward Aldwell and Carl Schachter.

  8. Wow. That's the best I've heard in a long time. I wish I could march this year but I have that whole life changing previous engagement thang going on. But I definitely see me un-retiring a lot sooner than later.

  14. I’m looking at amping one of my winter line pits. I’ve been told a number of things in terms of positioning the mics. I’ve heard that you can user basic stands, suspend them under the boards via bungee cords, put them in front of the boards, in back of the boards, etc…. I’m looking to get a few opinions from folks that have miced before (indoor or outdoor)… What works for you? What have you seen that does work or doesn’t. We’re using the Shure SM57 mics for our boards and other instruments. We have… • 4.5 Oct Marimbas x2 • 3 Oct Vibes x2 (maybe 3) • 3.2 Xylos x3 • 2 sets of bells (NOT Amped) • Drum set (kick drum Amped) • Chimes (Amped) Everything else will not be Amped. THANKS IN ADVANCE!
  15. Is any of the Front Ensemble still avail?
  16. So I'm not a visual guy by any means but I had an odd idea for a indoor floor (either guard or perc) You know that Julian Beever guy? He's the dude that makes the 3D drawings on the street. A la this... (when you view it from the front) It looks like this from the side Now here's the question. Could you, would you and SHOULD you paint a winterguard or winter perc floor with something that goes along with your shows theme. To look like that for added effect? Though it may look like chaos to the timing judge and the folks in the back to the judges up top and people up front you could have some amazing effects for yours unit. Would this add GE or take it away? Is it too much? Could it be done with paint? Please share your honest thoughts.
