Stale, stagnant maybe? SCV since 2012 - 5th, 4th, 4th, 5th BK since 2012 - 10th, 10th, 8th, 6th hmm, one of these corps seems to be in an upward trajectory while one seems to be staying stagnant in that 4th-5th range. Since you're big on statistics, I'll let you figure out which corps is which

Yes, the show THE GREAT EVENT with a direct quote from Cohen's THE GREAT EVENT right next to it definitely means that there is no correlation whatsoever. It's very obvious and they explain their concept very well.

Heard the first two movements. Regardless of placement its going to be a special year for BK

It's not about the drill as much as it's about the show design and BK has hit home runs the past 2 years and it's more of a grand slam this year. They're not moving down. I've heard about half of the show and it's just as impressive, if not more so, as what the top 4 are doing.

I swore I would never do this but here goes nothing. The Blue Knights show is an interpretation of Leonard Cohen's "The Great Event" and it revolves around the idea of the Human Condition. The theme is very apparent if you bother to read the show description that they made readily available

Honestly, as a fan of Shakespeare, I could see this show becoming my new all time favorite. Ink is definitely on the list because it had some of my favorite source music ever put in drum corps

As a saxophonist, it's impractical to march woodwinds. Weather affects the pads and reeds and maintenance is crazy when you change climates when taking a trip across the country for example

You misunderstand me. I love Phantom. I love all the corps. I'm just realistic when it comes to where I think they'll place. I don't see Phantom leaping into medalist category but I don't see them finishing below 8th either. All I'm saying is that there is a reason that corps are placed where they are. Phantoms show last year was the 7th best and that is why they finished in 7th

Let me ask you something. Do you think Phantom in 2009 deserved to be placed ahead of any of the corps above them? The show design was weak last year which is why they finished in 7th. People will predict them to fall until they give everyone a reason not to

Their show last year was fantastic. It was really fun and I have high hopes for them this year

I didn't like the show at all but the members played and marched it terrifically

One was judged because it was designed like a BOA show and the other was Kinetic Noise. No one in their right mind can tell me that Phantom should have been higher than any of the top 6 from last year

No way in hell that BK doesn't stay in the top 6. No way in hell Boston finishes 12th

I am basing this off of what I have seen and heard and right now, I am more impressed by what BK is doing than I am with SCV or the Cadets
