I have been downing the bluecoats all year long, but when I saw them live I was literally blown away. That brass is ten times better than I thought it was, the drumline hasn't missed a beat since 2014, the color guard was extremely good, their show theme still doesn't interest me, but they perform at such a high level I would be extremely surprised if they get lower than second this year.

So, I've heard a lot of bad things about the show this year and honestly I was surprised when I saw it. I think it's a good show, definitely needs some work, but it was my mom's favorite show last night and that is with the cavaliers and bluecoats there lol

I had a blast at the show tonight! Bluecoats really bloo me away lol that brass section sounds way better live and in person. -
Same here man! lol realistically I doubt anyone will 4 pete any time soon, but I do think the cavaliers will win a championship within the next 5 years

Landing in Little Rock

I really hope it doesn't, I'm so excited to go to this show. I haven't been to a dci show since the 2014 season. Also, I waited 3 years for the cavaliers to finally come back to little rock lol -
it's all really a matter of opinion :D for all we know their prime could be in 5 years when they win 4 in a row lol ;)

Yeah, I'm an Arkansas Razorback fan so everyone in Arkansas hates Alabama lol but I'm like the only person who is in awe of them. How can you not appreciate the work ethic they provide every year

Who would win of the four 99.0+?

I think the strongest year in DCI would have to be 2008, that top 3 is my favorite top 3 of all time I think. -

Wow, that's awesome! I honestly never knew that. -
I never understood why people hate Blue Devils just because they win a lot...They have a brilliant staff.

I never get tired of hearing that opening hit from the brass, chills every time.

No Detailed Recaps
CaviesFan17 replied to dcifanforlife's topic in DCI World Class Corps Discussions
same lol I'm sitting here like "Where are these recaps?" -
That's what makes years like this so exciting, it can come down to the last performance. If we just gave out gold medals, the competition would die. In the game of dci, you win or you die (eventually, without a gold medal from that year)

A non top 3 discussion

I'm really excited to see Academy and Troopers on the 27th -
I wish I was old enough to have gone to see them in their prime, I've seen those awesome 2000's shows when the fan network was up and running. The Cavaliers have been my favorite corps since I learned about DCI. My former band director in high school always watched fan network with me when I had a free period, usually at the end of the school day.

San Antonio Showdown

I still think Crown is going to win, idk...I just keep waiting for the bluecoats to go away lol but they keep on coming, props to the staff and members for putting on a great show. As much as their show doesn't connect with me, I have to admit they have been proving me wrong all season. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Bluecoats won this year..but I'm rooting for Crown! -

I honestly never pay attention to corps like Genesis and Surf, I know how horrible of me..but I also had Cavs in 6th, I thought the Cadets were going to shine under a full panel but I was wrong. Santa Clara impressed me. -

Yeah I was very interested in the recap, BTW my cavies beat Cadets in everything except music, that is pretty cool. -

I just think you have to watch the Blue Devils multiple times to start to get a feel for the show, don't get me wrong it's not my cup of tea, but they are the Blue Devils. I still think they will finish top 3, just because they have the best staff in DCI and they can take any show it seems to the top. -

Couldn't agree more, I thought they were going to be the #1 drumline this year because of how clean they were before the season even started but they don't get shown off enough at all. -

I guess for me, I don't view it as them trying to make a political statement. Honestly, when I watch this show I'm focused more on the music and drill than I am the actual "show" which brings me to an interesting topic...is it just me or is drill kind of lacking this year? Don't get me wrong there is obviously some good drill this year but I haven't seen anything that wows me, drill wise. Music this year is phenomenal though -

Honestly, I have teared up during a performance. Not when I'm around other people though, for some reason if I watch a very moving show like "Carolina Crown 2013" aside from the corny narration, the beautiful hit in the ballad when the corps is spread across the field made me tear up...but only when I'm watching it with the head phones all the way up alone lol -

. I think Crossmen could finish as high as 9th or 10th
