Yeah. I've never had to get the anthrax shots but a friend of mine who worked in a bio research lab did and she said they were just the most horrible shots you could ever get.

Just a plug for the DCX Museum. Such a great resource.

1. Mandarins. It's such a driven show. 2. Crown. Operatic, compelling. 3. Bloo. You got another Bump of that Bon Iver stuff? 4. Blue Devils. Jojo's was every bit of a moment as any this season and that arrangement of Both Sides Now is near perfect. 5. "And in 5th, which is really a tie for ..." Literally everyone. All the way down through the Open Class corps. This was an outstanding year.

As someone on an immunosuppressive med I've kept up with the boosters. New one coming next month. I've been one of the lucky ones still "in the game" so to speak and haven't gotten it despite some definite exposures. I might have "the gene" or something. A co-workers got shingles last year or so and I was like "ok yup, I'm getting my shingles shots". I remember when my grandmother got them and it was literally the ONLY time I remember seeing that woman cry. FYI the Shingrex shots threw me harder than any Covid or Flu vax did with the sore arm thing. But totally better to have a sore arm for a day or two than have what I saw my coworker go through

This is where I see a niche for some Open Class corps to position themselves as, "Didn't get a chance to do band? Band program ended? March with us." And be the place where they learn music education rather than simply siphoning off scholastic programs for their own competitive success.

Yeah they held that off until the end of the Cali tour. It was hilariously fun.

Present year merch note. I'm buying pins from everyone who has them on their site. Some corps need to get on that....And troop needs to restock the smaller ones. Kudos though to whoever it is HANDWRITING address labels and thank you notes for Blue Stars. They have amazing handwriting!

Of course most of what qualifies someone for this is happening outside of performance time. But also, a DM that has done those things like leadership, conducting skill, good relations with the MMs, etc. has command of the performance to correct possible disasters like we saw. That’s the “qualities off the spotlight” translating to performance moments. As are the “this DM conducts in a way that draws out the performers’ best” sort of things. We see only what’s happening in the spotlight, but those moments can’t happen with all that’s going on outside the spotlight

With actual helicopters? Would it be a violation to land them during preshow or would they have to try to bring them through the tunnel? That might actually get LOS opened for finals!

Man that brings back memories. I had HS friends who marched that show after we'd graduated. They loved being a part of it

I think it's a good move for East corps to do from time to time if only to grow the fan base and such. Cavaliers tour west a few years back was extremely well received by audiences and the MM's probably liked the adventure too

1. Throw your picture on a web based sharing site that will generate links. (I use Flickr, someone else mentioned https://postimages.org which has a nice simple interface) 2. Grab the url for the image. it'll typically start with https:// and end with .jpg or some such ending (.gif .jpeg etc) 3. Drop that link into your reply box here. Wait a second and if you've done it right, it will self populate the image inline.

I'd watch the heck out of that too.

I think that was a reference to 2022 RHRN. This years show was more widely received as a success than RHRN.
