  1. Well, narration may not hurt. Sounds like a good design with difficult accessibility for some people.
  2. So could you say that their show is over the average audience's head?
  3. Honestly a lot of our alumni are coming around to the fact that in order to become competitively relevant again, the old Madison had to hit the reset button.
  4. Well I guess that's what the BD people brought over to the Scouts' visual staff this year. Your statement makes sense there.
  5. Just curious as to why you think if the Scouts have a better product why you think the Blue Stars will still end up ahead of them?
  6. I said this on another thread before this season started. I have learned that it doesn't matter how late a camp starts, or how clean a corps comes out of the gate. What really seems to matter is how good of a design the corps has put together to put in the field. If they do that by the end of the season that corps should be pleased from a competitive standpoint on the field.
  7. We'll see. They have much better product to work with this year than in years past. But, whatever happens I choose to support the guys and stay positive for them.
  8. Been awfully quiet in here lately. Nothing to say I guess?
  9. I may sound a bit jaded but I'd rather for them to please the judges instead of the crowd at this point.
  10. I personally like angry, dark and dissonant! It's all a matter of personal taste.
  11. Maybe the BD visual people will pay off after all!
  12. Hey George I really appreciate your informative opinion of the Scouts' production this year! I have not had the opportunity to see them live with my schedule this year as of yet. It is good for a change to see that they finally have a show with enough content to be a solid finalist. Hopefully they can take this change and build a solid foundation to move forward as in years past.
  13. Obviously people on this thread are not Madison fans. That's cool.
  14. I marched Scouts in the 80s and we had a lot of success from a competitive standpoint. Having said this I have been saying for several years that the Scouts needed to do whatever was necessary to remain a relevant competitor in today's DCI. I am so thrilled that they have finally hit the reset button!!! Bravo to the staff!!!
  15. I really love the Scouts' show this year! But I really, really love the last three minutes of the show!!
  16. Yeah, I disagree with that review for sure!
  17. I'm just happy to see that the Scouts finally have a modern product with some meat they can work with!
  18. There is another all male corps that is creative and masculine. But I wouldn't say they are the straight up "bad boys" of DCI. No, I think your opinion is off there a bit. And Bozzly B you are exactly right, it was time to hit the reset button in my opinion and I think it is a great start!!! Two thumbs up for the Scout Staff!!!
  19. Objectively looking at this list I like the choices. From a safe bias standpoint I would say Scouts could be anywhere between 11 to 9 at finals.
  20. Nine White Russians just curious in your thoughts. Have you seen the show live and if so, what do you think of the musical book?
  21. Having said that, I personally think that Chris, Dann and the staff are doing an excellent job in evaluating what to do for the organization to make the corps competitive in today's modern DCI. And as far as grabbing a unique identity in this new modern drum corps era, there could be something there with this new "bad boys" of drum corps on the field to build on. I love it!!! Two thumbs up gentlemen!!!
  22. I don't think that is a reason to be really nervous yet. The very first show out and they come out in a competitive spot to be a finalist corps this year. The early recaps indicate high VA, GE and Brass scores which is a great place to be as compared to recent years past. Lot of cleaning and polishing to do.
