  1. If it wasn't for DCA, I wouldn't have marched in a DCI World Class corps, it's that simple
  2. From dci.org The Cadets 91.050 Phantom Regiment 90.100 Santa Clara Vanguard 87.600 Blue Stars 80.400 The Academy 79.350 Troopers 74.900
  3. I second that choice! We also just opened a brand new, state-of-the-art music building in January. The campus is small, and is within driving distance of Philly.
  4. From dci.org The Cadets 89.650 Blue Knights 83.150 Colts 80.500 Madison Scouts 76.950 Southwind 75.800 Pioneer 69.850
  5. Considering my girlfriend is one of those narators and still has 2 years of DCI left after this, I wouldn't like that very much...
  6. I like the red drums that crossmen used in 02. I think they went back to them didn't they?
  7. Any word on the Spirit of Disney Award's?
  8. Yes, but that might be in the new Cardinals Stadium, which has a retractable roof. At least I think it does...
  9. I believe Dynasty still sells G's on their website, at least they used to...
  10. Didn't the Vanguard Cadets wear those before they got the unis they have now?
  11. Sorry I did not mean to turn this a G/Bb war either. I just misunderstood you
  12. You're basing your comitment to a corps based on whether or not they play in G? What key you play in doesn't effect the experience of marching with a world class organization like Surf.
  13. Surf also had a female DM in 05 and will again in 06
  14. Ok, I didn't read everything but here's my 2 cents. During the winter, yes people should practice between camps and the such. But during the summer, there's just not enough time. You go from playing all day from 9 in the morning till 12 at night in the winter, to visual in the morning, maybe an hour or two of sectionals, to ensemble, to getting ready before a show, to going to the show, to warming up for the show, to doing the show in the summer. In fact in some corps, the staff doesn't want you playing during breaks to help save chops. Same is true after rehersal. They want to sleep so you can be refreshed for the next day. I think that's how it should be. Winter is for learning, summer is for cleaning. Oh I'm currently a Music Ed Major on French Horn, played trumpet for 3 years, french horn since sophomore year of high school, 4 years of high school marching band, 2 years of college marching band, and going on four years of drum corps (soprano for 2, mello for 2). Just thought I'd throw my stuff out there.
  15. In the beginning of Blue Devils' 2000 show what is the screaching sound they use? It also happens towards the end of the opener. This was before amping so that can't be it. Does anyone know? Thanx in advance.
  16. The only thing i will regret about going to a Division II college is not playing for a bowl game. Oh well...
  17. I can't believe no one mentioned 2004 where Jersey Surf took a 2 point penalty at Grand Finals.
  18. I like the unis The Cadets wore in 2004. A nice clean look.
  19. Who was the girl mello soloist from the three peat years of the Cadets in the '80's?
  20. Jersey Surf plays the Stars and Stripe and I believe the Cadets play a song called Semper Fi, correct me if I'm wrong.
  21. I'm surprised this wasn't brought up before (if it was please merge it or something), but who would win The Cadets 2005, or The Cavaliers 2002. You're now a DCI judge and based each corps FINALS performance from their perspective years, you to decide which 99.15 show is better. Have fun! Note: Please don't include reasons such as in your evaluation: -the Cadets spoke and amped so therefore the Cavies win -I don't like Hopkins so the Cavies win -I don't like the Cavies so the Cadets win Remember your a DCI judge, they can't do that.
