  1. Exactly!! Winners know how to win. And that's the main reason why BD gets so much hate. Last year was a masterpiece. And yes it did get a lot cheer's on DCP last year, there was still a lot of moans and groans. Why?? Cause BD has a certain number attached to them. That number is 16. They have won so many times that even if they do put out a fan friendly show people will still not like it cause they will win. BD can come out and do a show with 12 straight minutes of breakneck drill at break speeds, and then end the show on a massive powerful company front that pushes the stadium 6 feet back off its foundation. It still won't be received by all cause they will win again. I honestly believe if Felliniesque would have been BD's first championship, that show would have been loved by all. But it was #16. So people still didn't like it.
  2. I got what you are saying. It made sense to me lol. But you are right. Some people on this forum are quick to blame everyone when their corps isn't scoring or placing where they think they should. It's always the judges fault lol. It's never that maybe, JUST MAYBE the other corps outperformed your corps. Heavens no we could never think that lol. I am BD all the way. I will be the first to admit Cadets outperformed them Saturday night. Cadets won fair and square. Too many excuses thrown around on these forums. And you might be right about no corps being a 99 plus. But if there ever was one, BD 2014 was it. That show was a masterpiece IMHO. But if I have learned anything about DCP, it's that this place is cutthroat lol. We will turn on you in a second. Phantom went from being the darlings of DCP to getting thrown in the dog house lol. Even the Troopers are getting some flack their way. The Troopers!!! Lol. I used to think it was only BD and Cadets that would get the hate. Nope. After seeing the last couple weeks, no corps is safe on these forums lol. It's like Amateur night at the Apollo. Anyone can get it lol.
  3. As much as it pains me to see BD lose (DARN YOU BD!! LMAO!) I have to agree this year is really exciting. And now the Coats are joining the party tonight. Can't wait. It's going to be a slugfest till the end. Who ever comes out on top this year will have clearly earned it.
  4. Good insight. And I appreciate you're honesty in what a 20 means to you. Sadly not everyone is like that.
  5. I could not agree with you more. They are not done with this show. Not by a long shot. And I know they are well aware of the Bluecoats monster GE show. And that breathtaking killer ending Cadets have. BD will adjust. They will be fine.
  6. Would you agree that the 20's are perfects when we want them to be perfects and its a maximum score when we want it to be a maximum score? I have seen people on these forums get chopped at the knee caps for congratulating BD on their perfect 20's in captions. Those people get hammered and corrected that BD just got the max score. But those same people that was blasting BD fans was congratulating Crown for their 20 in Brass in 2013. In regards to it's only numbers and it doesn't mean much, I found it very interesting in 2009-2010 when BD came close to breaking the scoring record, it mattered to a lot of people on this forum then. I remember seeing a bunch of post saying "At least they didn't break the record." "Cavies/Cadets scoring record is still in tact!" And a lot of other post/comments like that. But it wasn't until last year when BD shattered that record that all of the sudden the scoring record didn't mean anything and the real record that matters is SCV's scoring margin record. And it's safe to assume that if BD ever takes that record down, then DCP will come up with another record that actually means something and downplay the significance of the scoring margin record. Not saying you are to blame. I have read a lot of your post/comments in the past and I come to respect you for your insight on the activity. You just happened to mention it so I wanted to give my perspective, no matter how wrong or right it is.
  7. When I went to see BD rehearse in Grand Terrace a few weeks ago here in SoCal, I heard talks of a new closer coming in around Murfeesboro/Atlanta shows. I wasn't shocked. I knew that ending was just a filler. Lets see what BD has up their sleeve.
  8. All I can think of are the Drum judges from 1991 Star and 2008 Cadets. How they survived those closers I will never know LMAO. I remember seeing a Youtube video of 2010 BD. Towards the middle of the show you hear a BD Guard member yell LOOKOUT to the drum judge lol. But having judges on the field could be a good thing as well. Was it 2002 Magic of Orlando when the Tenor player took a big spill and the drum judge helped him out towards the end of the opener? And the judge who chased down the Crown snare line and gave the kid back his drum after he lost it. Awesome moments. Without those judges who knows what would have happened.
  9. Considering Rockford is 45 milles from Dekalb, and Rosemont is 60 miles from Dekalb, one could say it's virtually a home show for both. But with corps being 500 miles from home in Missouri tomorrow night, i guess we will find out if PR placement over Cavies was a fluke.
  10. No way! When in doubt blame the judges! It's the DCP way!

  13. Yes reviews would be greatly appreciated. If the show is on time, BD and Boston should be done. SCV should be on the field now.
  14. I think we will see the scores pickup after San Antonio. I think first place at finals will be around 97.5 with 5th place in 96.1 range. I think it's gonna happen this year.
  15. Lol Troopers and Phantom catching more heat than BD LMAO! Never in a million years would i have seen this coming lol.
  16. BD has went on first the last three years at this show. Took 1st twice, and a 3rd. They will be fine. Hopefully last night's narrow loss will motivate them.
  17. BD's brass was on fire finals night. I think they deserved to win brass in my opinion. But that Cadets brass was amazing!! Figured they would be 2nd. If someone can explain why SCV past them up, i would appreciate it. I have watched all those shows dozens of times. Cadets should have had 2nd in brass.
  18. Good stuff!! But i believe Cavies was 96.2 in 1998. That year was interesting too cause that's also the year we came the closest to seeing three corps go over 98. BD was third with 97.7
  19. Surprising thing about 2001 was that Cadets didn't even take 2nd in brass. SCV did.
  20. Said the following in another thread, wanted to put it here as well................ While i am not a Troopers fan, i respect the heck out of their performers, organization, and what they mean to DCI . But i am certainly rooting for them in San Antonio cause i want to see if some of these people on this forum are man/woman enough to eat a huge plate of crow when the Troopers tear the f****** house down in San Antonio and show they belong. The gauntlet has been thrown down Troopers! Go get yours Troopers!
  21. I agree that BD's 99.65 will stand the test of time. It's going to take a corps to have a major run 6-8 year run like BD is currently on to break it. I think we will see another 99 in the future. My money is on the Cadets to go over 99 again in the future. But 99.65, i will have great grand kids before that score goes down.
