Unfortunately my wife and I are just attending Open Class Finals Monday and Tuesday. We are flying back home Wednesday. Wife has to work Thursday and Friday. Currently sitting in DFW airport on a 2 hour layover lol. We will be Indy around noon. I know Jim is a military man so it would be awesome to meet him one of these days, along with quite a few DCPers. You guys are like extended family lol.

Gold and SCVC just tied for first in Charleston Illinois with 80.250 BDB over two points behind both 78.050 Tried telling everyone, just because Gold was out of sight out of mind with Covid, didn't mean they were out of the running. My issue is BD can't win. Too many shows and we complain. Less shows and more rehearsal time and we complain. I am sure someone somewhere was complaining when BD got in two shows at the Rose Bowl and in San Bernardino back in June before the corps performed in Detroit at the Premier for the first time. It's just funny how some people (not all) find and/or invent a ridiculous narrative about BD, latch onto it, convince themselves this is why BD wins, and are prepared to die on that hill looking foolish the whole time.

I would have to go back in the archives and look. I remember getting into it with a member of the ABBD crowd over BD getting more time in front of the judges and that's why they win all time according to that poster. Maybe 8-10 years ago heck IDK......But since the ABBD crowd regurgitate the same stuff year after year, after a while all the years bunch together. Going to be catching my flight to Indy later on this evening. Gotta root on my son and Gold at Open Class finals. If I have down time or when I get back from Indy, I will see if I can go back through all my comments, find it, then PM you directly.

All good. At least you are man enough to admit it. One poster PM'd me and told me I had no clue what I was talking about, and BAC would be lucky to finish 6th. I responded to him last week to see if he was warming up his plate of crow in the microwave. Shockingly, he didn't respond back. Gee I wonder why.........

I can't and won't speak for the rest of camp BD. They are grown adults and can speak for themselves. But as for me, I haven't went anywhere. I have been here the entire week, including showing alot of love to BAC and their fanbase in the BAC thread. I was one of the people who said BAC would be top three, maybe top two before the season started when I got a secret video of their show early June, and I went on record saying it in this forum and got laughed at by some. No fear or being scared by me. I am more concerned with BD finishing top two for the 14th consecutive DCI Season. If BAC/Crown/Bloo/SCV come back and win next week, it's because they earned it fair and square, no excuses. And I will be congratulating and showing love to the champion and their fanbase, just like I did in 08/11/13/16/18.

And BD by their standards had an off night too. It's not like they were on fire last night either. Even the majority of us BD honks weren't pleased with last night's run. Looking at the scores over the last two weeks, Atlanta (to this point) appears to be the anomaly. We will see moving forward.

Here we go. SMDH. It's funny cause several years back, some people whined and cried because BD performed more than anyone else, so they were getting more time in front of the judges. Now it's less time in front of the judges with more rehearsal time. I see some getting warmed up for next Saturday night when/if BD wins.

I would say 2005 with the Yowza show was BDs last design misfire. 2006 Godfather Part Blue was a cool show.

Boston fans so freaking classy. Congrats to you guys as well. Every show, BAC resetting the corps record books. It's not over yet. BAC will make BD earn it next weekend. I knew this BAC show would be a contender.

Cutting ranks is someone who walks thru a formation when that Unit is lined up in rows at Attention/Parade Rest. Now I never did marching band/drum corps. But obviously I served in the military. I can tell you from a military standpoint, cutting a Command/Department/Division ranks FOR ANY REASON!!!!!!!!!!...........you just signed your own death warrant. As a Navy Chief I wish someone would have cut my ranks. I would have had an Iraqi Flashback, and they momma would have been buying a black dress lol. I don't care if my ranks are lined up in front of medical and you are crawling to medical's front door on your stomach with no legs. You better crawl your *** around and not cut my ranks. Again that's a military standpoint. Band/Drum Corps might not be as serious or as violent, maybe it is. I hope it is, because it's very disrespectful.

I wish I was gonna be there. We actually fly out of Indy that Wednesday morning. Wife has to go back to work Thursday. We will be in town to watch our son at open class finals though.

Probably doesn't count as a show concept (I apologize now) but I am still lobbying for BD to do a show with all Gordon Goodwin music. If it ever comes to fruition, DCI will get rich off of me, because I will pay triple the admission to hear that. BD Brass.......Gordon Goodwin.......YES!

In Open Class, I wouldn't count Gold out just yet. They seem to be an afterthought in your run down. Just a friendly reminder that before Gold was ravaged by Covid that took them out of competition for three weeks, they are still unbeaten vs SCVC this season, and beat BDB two out of three times head to head. Not saying Gold will win it all in Open class, but don't write them off just yet. Gold and SCVC will face off for the fourth time tomorrow in Iowa, so we will see where everyone is going into Marion on Monday.
