Yes they are both playing Shofukan and, yup, both did vocals to it.

The edges are colorful because that is the overlap from the back side (the colorful side) of the prop. Show represents dismal to colorful so you can kind of see where they are going with it. I personally know a marching member - my son - and he is definitely engaged and is extremely motivated to see and execute the final product.

Parts of the prop have yet to arrive and will be covered soon. They also have some uniform changes coming. The idea of the show is a person first arriving in a dismal city and - through music - making it their own, bringing new life and a new perspective to the city. The "train stuff" represents the shuffle of people getting on and off a subway car. I think it will make more sense when it's complete. No it's not. It's actually only about halfway through the closer.

I don't think much is going to change by way of uniform from last year. Possibly different accents but you're not likely to see the "2015" and "2013" style deviation you might be hoping for. I will say from what's been described, it fits with the theme and message of the show.
