  1. Are BDB and SCVC competing at Championships again in 2020?
  2. There's all kinds of fun. This is like the "fingernails on the chalkboard" kind of fun.
  3. If you won a Championship, and someone feels someone else was a better pick, and that bothers you...you're being paranoid. I myself agree with all the judge's decisions on who won the Championship, except for one time. If you were a member of that Corps, then you know which time I'm talking about.
  4. Good...Good! Let the Hate flow through you! Release your anger, only your hatred can make you powerful!
  5. Find out who your competition is, then call Jeff Gillooly. 😉
  6. Bumped so that the OP can see it when he logs back on to shed additional light on the topic.
  7. Ha! I just looked there too! Bluecoats owned the top spot for most of the 2016 DCI Tour, finishing first in 25 of 29 shows.
  8. Easy one! Favorite: 1st runner up: Ink (Blue Devils 2015) 2nd runner up: Down Side Up (Bluecoats 2016)
  9. Now let's not start with the puns about bloo, cheez we heard enough already.
  10. They would need to be compensated. I would assume there would be a lot of perks the year after winning a Championship to offset the lack of being allowed to compete. Maybe an increase in the ability to determine the direction of DCI, more money, etc... You could probably apply it on a broader scale beyond just the previous year's champion to other Corps as well, maybe look at the top 5, or 7, or something like that.
  11. On that note check out this hot dog porn: https://www.thrillist.com/eat/nation/ketchup-on-hot-dogs-best-toppings
  12. I get the point and I guess that works for corps that have a lot of people. For some if we eliminated the cymbal line we would just have five less people because we either dont have enough horns to give them, or if we did...they might not want to learn a brass instrument during the tour anyway. OTOH if you corps is large, does adding 5 more horns improve anything? Isn't there diminishing returns when you reach a certain size? I don't really know, just asking...
  13. I think what the OP is saying is that it is strange that someone in DCI (who is not us), is doing something regarding elections which may be irregular depending on your view of the situation and requisite rules, and in any case might not be the most beneficial thing to be done in his opinion.
  14. Oh yeah, very true...I wasn't even thinking about that. I never marched myself, so I don't always have that in the right perspective.
  15. I wonder if there's sort of a handicap to impress people when you're BD or SCV this year. I mean you have a consistent champion and last years champion, so everybody expects a lot. If you give a lot in their case it's just business as usual, so people aren't as impressed. I wonder how people would have seen their shows if they came on the scene this year as a brand new, never competed or seen before corps. People may have been really extra wowed and thought they were hands down the better shows. Just a thought.
  16. I can see people feeling that way when it was so close. But I thought it was accurate myself, so did my wife, we guessed it right beforehand. What do we know though, we're just frequent spectators with no judging experience lol. Any technical reasons why it should've been different would just go over our heads. Am I alone?
  17. I picked 12 mix and match open and world (with more open because I saw them more). Made it a personal rule to only allow a pick from the same corps once because my first try came up really lopsided: As the Sun Loved the Moon (7th Regiment 2017) The Grid (Legends 2016) Passion in Red (Stentors 2019) Coronation (Music City 2016) Darned (Guardians 2018) To the Moon (Blue Devils B 2016) Caged (Southwind 2019) Experiment X (Spartans 2019) In Pieces (Vanguard Cadets 2017) A Step in Time (Academy 2015) Wild Horses (Troopers 2015) Ebb & Flow (Jersey Surf 2016) Notes: My choices needed to come from the latter half of the decade because I didn't see the earlier half. Also, Darned was not the actual name of the Guardians show, but you get the idea.
  18. You see? So many people complain about BD winning all the time, but they are totally dominated by other corps in 3rd through 12th placements.
