I think several things come into play. When did they perform? Who did they perform after? What groups are at the show? If you look at all TOC shows the non G7/Top8 corps normally suffers an early performance time and is still lower in rankings giving judges a cushion. Stars and BK were at their own show with nonfinalists and both jumped almost 3 points. Exactly, the Crossmen seem to make .4 advances while Blue Stars at other shows advance 2 full points. You want Kennedy (which I believe will be) at Finals week and not Moddison(who I dont think ive ever heard of). Same thing with Stars v Phantom one judge had stars beating them in GE captions and next night PR swept. Just have to hope for the right combo of judges to be in your favor(judges at Erie tonight). I am a proud parent of the youngest member of this year's Crossmen. He's 15 and in the trumpet section. We live just north of Houston and are so thrilled to see him tonight after the show. It's been 53 days... Having said that, my hats off to any drum corps member and their respective staff for all the hard work and musical excellence that they put together for us, the fans. They deserve a standing ovation just for all their effort and even survival in this oppressive heat and humidity. I am amazed at their talent, tenacity and work ethic. Thanks to all!! Need a veteran fan to answer this one. I've been a drum corps fan since the early 80's ( although I took off 2005-2015). This year is my first time as a parent of a corps member. Is there any reason why the performance order seldom changes? The corps that performs first (generally speaking), make lower placements with the corps performing later winning the top spots. Why not a random "draw from a hat" order of performance? The individual corps performance should speak for itself no matter where they perform in the show order. Just curious.
