Fastest Growing Youth Activity in America?

I wish marbles would make a comeback. Things were so innocent back then. You played at recess and lunch and those with tiger-eyes, dutchy-boulders and ball-bearings were the luckiest. -
BK, who do they beat that's currently over them?

If Phantom were to hit 80.00 it would be an early Festivus miracle They would be showing promise in the feats of strength. DCP posters would be quick to air their grievances. -

Some days I think the fastest growing youth activity is Internet forum trolling. However it's not an activity that's exclusive to youth. -

Isn't WGI growing faster than Drum Corps? -
I think the Cavaliers need to concentrate on the guard program. The visual, horns and percussion are great (!) but the guard isn't up to their level yet. After watching a video of their Minnesota performance, I'm wondering if those things covering their ears are causing issues with their performance.

I think Phantom needs to concentrate on cleaning the show and to do something about that narration - like removing it would be a good start. Even from the high cam point of view, I could not get a read on what was going on with the drill at the beginning of American in Paris. It looked very dirty. As for the line of guard members at the end of American in Paris, every video I see of them shows flag drops during the exchange before the Can Can. They might consider removing the flag exchange.

Even better than that, have the members play their horns and percussion instruments more and completely drop the use of all electronic samples across the activity. -

I think this piece of music would have been better because I think BD's guard is the most capable of being groovy. https://youtu.be/etviGf1uWlg?t=28s -
I had no idea about Van Gogh and Paris. This is a lot more interesting than "Taxi!"

Look at the flag in the background. It is more unfurled than the one in the foreground. Sunflowers have dark centers.

George should write a book. The problem is he already tells it like it is in so many ways. -
I think I'd rather have a vague concept than that narration... When she screams "Taxi!" I looked to see if I could see anything remotely related to a taxi. I didn't see anything. I did however think back to Cadets' taxis from their '99 show. i think if applied in this case they would have to come from a Peugeot, Citroen or Renault rather than a Chevy....

I think the yellow flags represent the lights of Paris at night. They look like sunflowers in some photos though.

So I just saw a video of Phantom from Minneapolis... Up until then I had heard the music, seen a couple of other videos and read the comments here on DCP. This particular video was from the high camera viewpoint. I really hope they change their mind on adding snippets of narration during the show. The same can be said for the Frank Sinatra singing. If they absolutely feel narration is necessary they might choose the pre-show to have the narrator introduce Paris and why it's so special. No need to put bits of it through the show.

I'd say it's more like green apples and red apples. -

Things like this have happened before - remember in '88 when Suncoast Sounds' guard unfurled the wall at the back of the field and a couple of the flag poles were out of order?

There's actually a video of that you-know-where.

Isn't her last name now Martinez? I thought she was busy with a lot of other color guard commitments. I even see an "April Martinez" on Vanguard's color guard staff although that could be a different person (I now also see" Michael James" listed there as well).

So much to say. Such a small audience.
