Yeah, that's bizarre - individual corps outside the top 12 from previous years are available, but not in the bundle...and some of the 13-25 individual downloads are no longer there either. Its ridiculous that copyright laws are so whacky right now that DCI has to constantly "update" its download sites. One day they can be made available and licenses are paid, the next day they are not??? This is why the physical media is so important to me - once I get the CD's, and videos, they are mine...no law or company (looking at you Tresona) can contact me and take them away from me just because the law changed, the publishing company got greedy, or the composer changed his mind regarding rights. I know DCI has not been perfect in all of this, but it seems to me they have really tried over the last 5 years or so to make sure EVERYTHING is licensed...and still - its a mess.

I'm sure they are waiting for various license permissions to go thru...especially on the video end. Last year the CD was released for sale early November, but the year before it was around Thanksgiving. And preorders for the bluray were around December. I still think that the video is going to be delayed, and when (or if) it finally gets released, there will be more cuts and edits than ever before (negative Nelly, sorry). I can't imagine what a pain it must be for DCI - sitting waiting for each sync license and mechanical license to go through, waiting for confirmation or denial for each tune used, and no idea as to when it all will be finished. I know this is the RIGHT thing to do on DCI's end, but its frustrating to say the least for them, the corps, the staffs, and the fans. I wonder if in my lifetime all of this copyright debacle will get resolved...I'm 51, so probably not. lol Anyone miss the days when you received the 6 volume DCI set of Vinyl records in early November, and then the Video tape set of the top 12 from Video Express right after! 🙂 And they were all pretty expensive for the time...I believe the Top 25 VHS set in multicamera sold for around $175 in a three tape set in the late 80's, early 90's!

Why would Bluecoats be securing sync rights for their show? DCI is the one that has to secure sync rights since DCI produces and sells the blu-ray...unless you are telling me Bluecoats are producing their own video and paid for sync rights for their own blu-ray or DVD. Or, are you misunderstanding the rights issue and think that because the Bluecoats secured Performance rights and Arranging rights for this summer that they have sync rights as well? Or, do you have insider information?!! 🙂

I wonder if there will even be a bluray release this year - so many corps in finals played “very difficult or impossible to get sync license” music this summer: Phantom - Carmina Burana Crossmen - Led Zeppelin Crown - Gabriel’s Oboe Bluecoats - entire show of Beatles music Boston - Hamilton music with original voiceovers I apologize for rehashing this topic, but I’m very concerned that there won’t be a Bluray this season, and maybe only about half the corps from finals will be released on marchingmusicdownloads, similar to what FLO has up now on their website (and even some of those corps performances have music cut out during portions of the show) Chime in if anyone has better info and is less worried than I am 🙂

I think you mean the Legacy collection DVDs...those are the ones that are incomplete in the DCI store but some years are still available. The three Essentials Blu-ray’s are all still there for now. Wish they would make more Essential Blu-ray’s, but with licensing how it is, that’ll never happen. 😞

Get the three Essentials Collections Blu-ray’s, they are worth it.

I dont think it matters...as long as you perform ANY portion of the tune, it’s got to be paid for. The Bluecoats have a long rep list of tunes for this season. Could be extremely expensive even if the rights are granted...

For arranging and performance yes, but I don’t think mechanical (cd) or sync (video) were part of that announcement. I would love to be wrong...

Is DCI going to be able to get it for the bluray set? After researching a little regarding Beatles music and licensing, I’m thinking not, but one can always hope. However, it could be the first year of finals vids that an entire performance is not on the disc...and it’s even worse for DCI if that corps ends up winning tonight and your champ of the activity isn’t included on the set. ugh, the state of copyright today...sorry to be negative nilly on finals day, but couldn’t help thinking about this all season. And yes, I’m a DCI video collector thus my concern. Good luck to all the corps tonight - its been an awesome season!

Yup, same here, as I posted in other threads...I think the software or player they are using is new this season, and it’s got a bug in it that does what we all are complaining about randomly to people using a desktop computer. Let us all know if anyone gets help from them or a fix comes out.

Your feed switched by itself, even though you probably did nothing. Click on high cam, then go back and click on multi cam and it should switch back...again, something I have been seeing all summer.

Wish FLO would address the issue of the sound being randomly muted or switching from multi cam to high cam on its own...been doing it all summer and I’ve tried everything on my end possible. Contacted them multiple times with no help to solve the issue. I know other people are having the issue too...so frustrating.

This has been my biggest issue with every broadcast this summer thus far...kind of glad to hear it’s not just me. I was worried it was something on my end, and I have an outstanding fast connection and late model desktop computer. I just don’t get why they won’t address issues. Contacted them twice now about it and got the standard “clear your cache, use latest google chrome, make sure you use a wired connection, etc. blah blah blah.” Been there, done that, multiple times. And I don’t get it, because last summer I had zero issues with any of the streams.

Maybe log out and log back in again? Ive had issues since the beginning of the season...stream keeps randomly switching to muted audio and I have to “click to unmute” in the upper left corner of the screen. When it does this, it also switches from multi cam to high cam or vice versa. Contacted FLO but not much help. They said to use google chrome, which I stated I was using in my initial customer support email. I’m frustrated because last season I had ZERO issues.

Issues with FLO this season for me... broadcast randomly switches from high cam to multi cam or vice versa. and sometimes when they show certain commercials it automatically mutes the sound and I have to “click too unmute” never had these issues before, especially last year which I thought was a good year for FLO. Anyone else or is it just me?
