  1. Want to keep "legacy fans" in the fold? I have read here that DCI needs to really define Drum Corps. That would be a first step. I would also suggest that when this definition is done try to keep it to "legacy " Drum Corps Standards, such as dropping this talk about electronics, narration and woodwinds. Let DCI stand for Drum Corps not some migrated clone of it that is if DCI is serious about it.
  2. Could it be that DCI has changed the look, feel and sound of Drum Corps? The question should be, "Can we change it back?"
  3. Hmm and from an evan "older timer" (I really hate saying that) I am glad it did not pass. Electronics has nothing to do with "Drum Corps". This debate no one wants to have is to define "Drum Corps". As a spectator, If I wanted to see Electronics I would go see Spears, Madonna and so on. If I want to see a Drum Corps Show I want to see and hear Drum Corps. I will admit that I understand the amplification issue because I preformed with a corps last summer that used pit amplification. I understand now the difference in the overall performance. However the question I will ask you guys is "Is that really Drum Corps?" and " How can the judges "Judge fairly" when a corps can not afford the amp". Or evan worst last year I went to DCI Atlanta and some of the corps I watched really were terrible due to the amp. the question has to be the definition of what we do. DCI I believe has no definition of what Drum Corps really is. They have always fought what the standards of Drum Corps really are and in todays world it is almost like watching World Wrestling Entertainment. You do not know what you are watching but it seams to be entraining.
