  1. You do not like them. So you say. Try them! Try them! And you may.
  2. Charlie1223 is a voice of reason . . . Say . . . I do like Green Eggs and Ham . . . Stay tuned
  3. THIS . . . I BELIEVE . . . is a Worthwhile Thread . . .
  4. all 23 WC corps within a 10 point spread instead of the usual 20-25 . . .
  5. A BIG CONGRATS to the more than 20+ groups of Musical Organizations that won in both rounds of the contest. That alone speaks volumes about the need and support of performing arts and music education. $300,000 was awarded to 14 Drum Corps in the two Chase contests. That money was sorely needed by each corps to continue on with their respective missions. Job well done. Ok, what's next?
  6. Ohhh the distance we go for our CrownVOLUNTEERS . . . The Grass is GreenerROOM will be well stocked also . . .
  7. Ron, Holla at me when you get to Charlotte . . . We have an Official NightBEAT Golf Cart with your name on it, all ready just for you . . .
  8. All shows are worth going to. Early Season Mid Season Late Season Tell the 17 year old kid who has been bustin' his butt all year just to make a spot and his first show is in Allentown, tell him his first show isn't worth goin' to. Tell all the Moms and Dads who have been working hard to support their kids in every way from dollars, to working the food truck, to sewing uniforms, to takin out the garbage. Tell them that early season show isn't worth goin' to . . . Tell the volunteers of each Drum Corps Show who plan year round for their event, that any show is not worth goin' to just because it isn't finals. You tell any of these people that and they will call you crazy at first. Then they will smile and proceed to talk you into going. You'll listen and then you'll remember what got you fired up about this activity . . . Then you'll go, because you love this activity. So . . .If you live within 2-3 hours of a Drum Corps Event . . . Two words, wait for it, here it comes . . . BE THERE ! Hello Naysayers . . .Refresh my memory here . . . You are on this forum because you love the Marching Music Activity . . . Right? Then GO! Enjoy Rock on . . . Ok . . . What's next? Oh yeah . . . Bring a Friend . . .
  9. that's funny. if only this humour spilled over to the other threads....
  10. Uncalled for and quite the opposite of what is truly happening. It's called VISION folks . . .
  11. The most important trait of a Serious DCI/Drum Corps Fans is . . . Volunteering for their favorite corps in some shape, fashion or form . . .
  12. Of all the BOOpeeps in the world . . . YOU should have a Facebook page . . .
  13. A reminder to the Drum Corps Community, Please continue to VOTE, encourage others to VOTE. Do not stop, Do not give up. Keep Pushing . . . VOTE 4 THE DRUM CORPS! Why? Read the Third Bullet Point. ----------------------------------------------------------- Chase will make a total of $5,000,000 in donations: * Round 1: Chase will donate $25,000 to each of the 100 Charities receiving the most votes in Round 1, provided all eligibility requirements and standards have been met. Those Charities will be announced on the Chase Community Giving Page, as well as through the Chase Community Giving application on or about 12/16/09. * Round 2: Chase will donate $1,000,000 to the Round 2 Charity receiving the most votes and will donate $100,000 to the five runners up, provided all eligibility requirements and standards have been met. Those Charities will be announced on the Chase Community Giving Page, as well as through the Chase Community Giving application on or about 02/01/10. * The Chase Community Giving Advisory Board will select one or more nominated Charities to receive donations with a combined total of $1,000,000. The chosen Charities will be announced on February 8, 2010. ------------------------------------------------------------ There is a strong possibility that other groups NOT in the Top 6 will still receive additional funds. Not sure what the formula or the criteria may be, I'm hoping it is on a sliding scale, similar to how a golf tournament awards it's prize money. It is in the committee's hands. THAT is WHY it is important to keep Pushing and that ALL 4 CORPS make a strong showing in this final round. Imagine . . . If all 40,000 fans of DCI on their Facebook page would VOTE 4 THE DRUM CORPS . . .
  14. Have You Voted Yet? Have you asked your Family? Your Friends? Your Friend's Friends? Your Co-Workers? Come On, Get out the VOTE!
  15. I am simply amazed at the negativity that is displayed here, and on some other threads. Yet I knew it was going to happen. I challenge each of you that has gone negative in these threads to put your energy to good use. Vote for the charity that captures your attention. After this campaign is over, I would also challenge each of the same people to contact their nearest drum corps and offer there assistance. And if it's not a drum corps, then the nearest non-profit that you deem worthy. Believe me, Drum Corps and other charities will welcome you and put you to work based upon your abilities. Maybe this whole Chase campaign has awakened alot of folks to the fact they indeed need to do more, not just drum corps but other very worthy charities. Come on folks, put your energy to good use. Make a positive difference.
  16. Simply Vote to your heart's content. Simply Vote for the 5 most deserving charities of your choice. But above all else . . . Simply Vote. 8 Hours and 20 minutes . . .It begins again . . .
  17. That is a STRONG statement. Think about it. Now Pledge Your Vote.
  18. That is clearly not the case. If anything, we work harder to avoid that misconception. Keep it positive folks!
