  1. yes but when your part of something for 5 years.. its um nearly impossible to roll over and let someone kick you. like dogging on the mid 90's crossmen when you were there for 4 years?!? and i know you well enough jason.. your ego is large enough to tear into someone with your kentucky humor for making a comment about your corps. <<the master of smart ### remarks. :P
  2. blah blah blah.. lots of bickering.. hey umm how many times can we beat a dead horse.. (apparently as many times as you want) but it just aint right.. so do excuse me when i saw just shut up already!!!! what good does talking about someones dirty laundry do for them when theyre trying to reorganize.. geez cut it out
  3. wth?? i dont know if you were part of ecj or not.. im guessing not.. but theyre trying ok?? why do you have to run your mouth and put ecj down. i dont get what your deal is?!?
  4. theyll announce that in a few weeks apparently.. id be interested to see who as well. as well as a potential program... but we still got time. soooo yea.. bye
  5. hey rob, hows it goin. i marched ecj (as you can see on my signature) from 02-06. if you have any questions.. or anything?!? about the up coming season then great feel free to contact me. i might be at camp.. so maybe ill see you there. take care
  6. oh wow this photo is from the week leading up to indianapolis. i was trying to look for me, realizing... hmm i dont have a horn in my hands. i had just joined the corps and was learning the show... good times
  7. how bout chaning the limits and max of the divisions. 30 is too high, and 150 is umm dumb! if you want to see my thoughts further in depth go to the ecj page. and yes reinstate the division 4 for the smaller guys, and reinstate the dca, dcm, dcp circuts...not all corps can tour on a national level.. and the amount of touring in order to get to finals i find a bit much especialy for those who cant afford it. eventualy i think youd find that the more corps with fewer restrictions on tour schedules and size are going to be better off and perhaps survive. and the more corps that survive.. the more local shows and less spending money on traveling stupid distances.
  8. people act like this has never happened before to a corps.. omg everyone hit the panic button!!!! hey tom, money is green, its nice to look at, and it makes life happy... ecj needs some.. and you made it clear you have pleanty of it... how bout you make a difference in someones life (like donating like many of our staff have or have not done) or just stop complaining about something that you cant control and quite frankly you have nothing to do with. and as for mr big bad boss man who knows how drum corps are run..with his big mighty noggin and all. maybe the problem with drum corps isnt only the policy of the corps.. but in fact the error lies in the policy of DCI. it would be easy to blame any one corps for folding and not being able to support a tour like the "almighty top 20" but look at the track reccord.. tell me how many corps have folded JUST in the past 6 years... when there were easily 60+ corps in div 2/3 now maybe 20 on a good year?? clearly the expectations that dci has of div 2/3 is rediculous and not nearly forgiving as div 2/3 needs it to be. there are many ways to go about it, you could have 10 pages of ways this could happen ..take your pick. a few years ago dci made the mistake, getting rid of the atlantic, midwest, pacific divisions.... for some corps that was their only means of fielding a corps. that and jacking the limit to 30 members and letting the max soar as high as 150 now. yea its not the most pleasent thing to see a corps of 10 kids go out there..but do you really think those kids care as much as we do that theres only 10 of them?? to expect every corps to go to finals and be big and loud with 150 kids is crazy. some people contradict themselves here... its STUPID!! oh lets jack up the number of kids in a corps to 150 and raise the limit to 30.. are you kidding me?? how many corps can field 150?? and on the flip side how many have fielded semi succesful 10-15 member groups??..but because of stupid rules they cant field...i can bet you that the number of smaller groups will out number the big ones! people have to start from somewhere...we cant just all march super duper corps. For those of you who have marched a struggling div 2/3 corps would know that not all the staff get paid, but certainly the staff who stick around despite that are that much more appreciated, and even though some of us get fed PB&J every day!!!! its certainly better than going hungry. some people go hungry and dont get fed at home.. i got fed better at corps than at home as do most. if you have the money thats nice go ahead have fun go spend it all on touring and trying to be the best and chasing the ring. correct me if im wrong but i thought playing an instrument was about the chance to perform?!? am i wrong? please do correct me if i am... wait on 2nd thought dont.. ill still tell you your wrong.. and if you want PM me and ill tell you why (remember arrogance isnt a bad thing if you can back it up) good night dcp
  9. im still waiting on staff announcements myself, id like to hear whats goin on behind the scenes right now. i miss ECJ! and my tuba
  10. i had issues too when i was trying to buy the mp3's on dci.. i found that if you sign in to dci, minnimize that page.. then reload a new dci page and then go into the store that it worked.. but thats me.. who knows
  11. i dont know about everyone else.. but for me it happens by psyching my self out and making sure my surroundings are clicking according to how they should aniticipating a horn move and thinking about it so much and poof i miss it.. and just by being in that mind set some of the simple information just goes out the window and woops there i go. so i guess its just by thinking too much
  12. well all** the buses have been sold, maybe* thatll get some of that out of the way. thats being optamistic.. but who knows what they have goin on. im not on the inside.. i just get my info from the site and random emails thats about it.
  13. dont go cheep.. thats all i can say >who are you buying them for? (age group, type of group) are they going to be taking care of them as a hornplayer should?.. is it a marching band or corps. ..how often do you plan on using them/what conditions?? >how long do you want them to last or how often do you want them repaired? theres a list of things you want to ask yourself... yes we all know money is hard to come by, but dont go out and be cheap. im no expert but ive played in my share of corps and on different horns just about every year... so i know what the deal is.
  14. hey guys, i know you have "fond" memories but keep the knocking of the staff and the organization down to a minimum. keep the ecj name or whats left of it intact. k? peace borges
  15. heres the deal i spent part of my summer in a mix gender group... i didnt have that great of a time, for various reasons. but i went over to madison and despite the overwhelming amount of male hormone, my experience was MUCH more enjoyable. we got things done faster and less complaining and conflict of personalities. personaly if it aint broke dont fix it. we're brothers and id like to see it stay that way
  16. mikes a cool guy, he marched boston for a few years. and he was a visual tech at dartmouth HS in 01 (my hs). but when he was living in the area id see him at some of the fall and winter shows.
  17. there was "organization"??? hah jk jk a good 5 years of my life.. i cant knock it much i miss you guys
  18. my dear sir.. stop while your digging yourself a hole. i assure you quite a few of us have rings.. clearly div 1 or the scouts is not our only means of attaining a ring
  19. yea aging out with madison > you guys rock my face off, thanks for a great summer but back on toppic.. like someone previously said, we were great just a few weeks behind... i can definately say that playing catch up sucks. but a new year is ahead of them, and i wish them the best
