I really am not sure. Wouldn’t be surprised to see SOMETHING happen. But the more I think about it, I don’t think the word “conspiracy” accurately describes something the organization would be engaged in.

Actually, I think it’s just the opposite. I believe objects in mirror are NOT as close as they appear. And that’s not a knock on Blue Stars or Cavies!

My mom and went! Judging by the t-shirts, just about everyone in there was going to the stadium tonight.

Odds of a delay are now 100%. Although it’s not actually raining, gates are postponed to open at 6:30 instead of 5:30 now. Keeping my fingers crossed for the storm to slide past, and nothing later!!

Stadium was supposed to open at 5:30. Its now delayed until 6:30, due to “weather in the area of the stadium”. It’s not raining, but it’s a bit dark. Looking at the radar, we are right on the edge of it.

I’m putting myself on record to say this to anyone who might have gotten the wrong idea from me personally: Please DO NOT attend ANY rehearsal where it is the expressed wishes/policy of the corps to have closed reahearsals! Please DO NOT disrespect any corps. I will be at Allentown this weekend. But I will NOT be attending any rehearsal or warmup that is supposed to be closed to the public. Out of respect for others, I WILL be wearing a mask. And I will also be purchasing numerous corps souvies. 😄

I’m pretty sure the Blue Devils organization is NOT being dismissive of any risks. And I’m also pretty sure they aren’t “worried”. Also, I never said any corps was wrong for closing rehearsals. I merely said it’s something they have to decide for themselves, and it’s a concerning trend (for reasons unrelated to COVID).

First, judges opinions don’t matter. Bluecoats have made their mark on drum corps history with this show! Second, where did you get the idea the judges don’t like Bluecoats this year?

Thank you for repeating the point I already made. My whole point has always been, why would it be a problem to allow fans in the stands, not interacting with anyone? People jumped on me for saying that. People start talking about safety, blah blah blah. People need to use some basic common sense. I’m pretty sure, if the most competitively successful corps has found a simple way to allow fans to watch, then it’s going to be fine.

Well, the Blue Devils disagree. They are still allowing people in the stands at rehearsal. I guess this means the Blue Devils don’t care about safety at all. I guess they want kids and staff to get infected so they can’t finish the season.

I was wondering the same thing. Did something actually happen? Is it going to be a trend for the remainder of the season, or was it just a "one-off" differing opinion from one night?

You’re way off base. You know nothing about me. To say I care nothing about the kids or the activity is absolutely wrong. And I’m calling you out for it. You can’t just assault my character because I have an opinion.

6 years of subpar design? Really? That is the most ridiculous thing I’ve heard in a long time. People are freaking out over a show that’s really exciting and cool to watch! Calm down, folks. It’s gonna be fine.

Every aspect of Boston’s show is SO FAR ABOVE anything they’ve ever done before. So exciting to watch! It’s awesome!

This is easier for me to understand. i believe Boston mentioned that they just don't have the manpower to police it. I get that. Like I said, every corps has to do what they feel is best. But the idea of closing rehearsals is still a trend that worries me, long term.
