  1. Ya know....Insulation is important in any region. If'n ya live in the North.....it helps keep the heat in during winter. In the south....it helps keep the heat out..... Then again.....when it gets hot in the North...it keeps the heat out and the cold in. IT"S INSULATION..........works both ways.....Just sayin......
  2. JOEeeeeeeeeeeee.......It's me..........I have a sister who lives in Mahopac (really close to Fiskill and Peekskill N.Y.) She has long been a D&B fan...especially the CABS as her late husband was from Clifton, N.J. She's about 73 now but, would really be ###### if I didn't tell her about this. You go DUDE.....!!! Geeeeene.
  3. Erie Pa. forcast 2-4 inches tonight...3-5 tomorrow........ZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Just another dusting............. My snowblower feels neglected.........
  4. .....and the Appropriate CALL it was. Time to give a little bit back to someone who has done so much for our Corps' Oh ya.......forgot to mention......Im goin' I think we're taking a Stretch Prius (don't need no stinking brakes)
  5. What do you do after you catch the Ice...? Makes more sense to go "Fish" fishing. Just sayin.......
  6. Looks like one is struttin his stuff given other an eerie feeling. Just sayin.......
  7. Ya Donny......the St. Joe's Classic does present a problem. The TBIRDS would hate to be without "The Man" but, that's a once in a life time opportunity and cannot be passed up. Just sayin........
  8. Gotta wish Gary a Happy Birthday. Why you ask.......? Well....for one......it is his Birthday. DUH.. For those of you who have never met him there's a good reason. He's a "Behind the Scenes" kinda guy. Never looks for acolades......pats on the back....etc. etc. etc........He just goes about doing whatever it takes to promote not only the ERIE TBIRDS but, Drum Corps' in general. Check his signature sometime. Where he finds the time while running and maintaining an Architectural Firm and an officer in several Drum Corps' organizations is beyond me. Not sure our Corps' could exist without him. (and maybe others). Again........HAPPY BIRTHDAY GARY MATCZAK
  9. Good question. I think the term "Contestants" needs to be defined to answer that question. I assume contestants to mean A "Corps'" by name. Maybe....maybe not. Worst case scenario....should all members of a previous or current Minicorps' die in a plane crash does that exclude that Corps'..? I would think not. Just sayin...........
  10. Have to go with Gary M. on this one. Number (1) explanation on a previous post on this thread pretty much defines it as I read it. The only sketchy part is the Alumni thingee. That statement could be construed to include ANY Alumni Corps' (I.E. DCI, etc) Never has really been very clear on that point. But.......in context....and being a function of DCA All Age Corps'.....one may percieve what Gary M. eludes too.
  11. Agree. Glad to see Jeff Gibbens name here among some real Icons. Well deserved
  12. Seems like it doesn't it. Here's a couple more (risking a Kewpie here)......Photo shows him playing a Mellophone at Minicorps' 2008. (might be a pic while playing a Solo) for a Texas Corps' but, he left his heart in.........
  13. Someone's been paying attention. Kinda skary ain't it...?
  14. Geeez......I thought 7 or more and a Horace Greely quote were two pretty good clues. Gotta think outside the NE. There are other Frontiers ya know......
  15. Kinda Scary isn't it...? Siglow might not even know this one. (but...knowing Mike.....he probably does).
  16. Celeste.......I am so sorry to hear this. Not even sure of what to say. I consider Riggie a true friend whom I've known since he was the Meadville Thunderbirds very first outside arranger/instructor back in the early 1960's along with Bill Murry and Lou Polumbo. Riggie continued to be with the TBIRDS as arranger/instructor for several years as was responsible for turning the Corps' from a parade unit into a field Corps' by 1963. I still remember the funeral Riggie and I played Taps/Echo for Charles (Charley) Walker the man who almost single handedly formed the Thunderbirds. I won't go into all the stories right now as there are many. Just tell Riggie (he calls me Meadville whenever we meet) that Gene says ...."Hey....... Sugar Blues......how yinz doin'.....?
  17. This IS an appropriate response regarding Cru's announcement of inactivity IMO. Speculation as to why, who, what, is really not in Cru's best interest nor that of the posters. Is it really necessary for some DCPers to respond to everything....just to see their name in print? (My pet peeve). It was an announcemnet .........PERIOD. Just sayin......... GO CRU !!!!
  18. I heard it on the Grapevine....Dah dah dut....dah... dah dah dut..dah dahhhh.......
  19. .......or......at the very least.........a "Pepe" look-alike award.......OR NOT...Just sayin........
  20. Spot on Steve. Not sure about Nanci as we weren't formerly introduced until Labor Day outside the Clarion grabbin' a smoke ......or 4. "Lou" was also in the mix at H'burg sporting DA's "Who" badge and vice versa.
  21. About twice as much as you got last time you were here Rog.
