  2. Good to see Donny is there!!! I am so impressed with what the Crusaders did this past season. Sounds like you have some excitement brewing GO CRU!!!!
  3. The Knights stopped in North Tonawanda in 1983 and played a stand still at a local park...wow Ruslan and Ludmilla was awesome. I heard Bridgemen used to sing, "even the Knights are better." (Old Air Supply tune. Have located Pedro "Pete" Montanez he's in LA
  4. It would be nice to see someone different win....I say Go Renegades! But louder I say....GO CRU Keith
  5. Whatever happened to Pete Montanez? We worked together with Schlossgarde in Frankfurt , Germany and last I heard he was in LA doing movies. Anyone?
  6. In 1976 our two mallet players worked out the "Peanuts" tune and next thing you know the snare line came up with this battery thing and it was the best streat beat at that time. I do remember that we did "Louie Louie" in 1971 with the huge set of triples playing the "main theme."
  7. Fred's in the Dinosaur house and Barney and Betty....oh nevermind..hehehehehehe. All is well in Sarasota. Some limbs came down, we have a lot of leaves in the pool and it is COLD this morning. Hope all my other Floridians made it through the storm okay.
  8. Another hint from Goldie.........The symphonic Music of YES!!!! Right?
  9. Kay is cute...if I wasn't deeply in love with my wife and loving marriage with her, Kay would have to watch out for me. Love you Kay!!!
  10. I have an idea....don't tell anybody and wait until the first performance. That would make everyone angry hehehehehe
  11. Whatever happened to the Lakeshorettes? All-girl corps from Angola, NY.
  12. Renegades probably have just changed one of their tunes. LOL
  13. One spring our corps hired this guy who ran a championship drill team in the area. He comes in, and to this day I remember, he says, "get in a circle, we're going to do the Trooper sunburst!" No lie! Now I was 12 I think and thought this guy won't last the day and sure enough we came back after lunch and our brass instructor was writing drill and the other guy they told to take a hike. I never saw dot books until 2001 with Crusaders. Even when I taught Patriots, drill was on paper, not Pyware.
  14. Let me guess.... "Nights in White Satin" " Just You and Me" by Chicago Just a guess
  15. You have the chance to name a corps director. This director could be famous, like a celebrity, so who would it be? I like Stan Kenton but since he's dead I'll pick............ Robin Williams
  16. Bill is back??? Cool beans. Hmmmmm maybe I might.....aaaaaa....maybe!
  17. although I can't imagine why we all got time enough to cry.
  18. Check me out, if we get hit with this next hurricane you'll have to remove me....lol! I'm staying here!!!
  19. I think Blue Devils should do their '76 show, Madison should do '75 show, SCV should do 1974 show
  20. What you guys only have 22 contras and you need 8 more? LOL
  21. Bill McGrath Sr.....he wrote our drill in...hmmmm...1970 or 71. He was doing Yankee Rebels then and I believe he was an innovator in "the day."
  22. For those corps who performed in this particular show....think of it this way.... You may have rescued one person! How? You may have reached that one boy or girl who said to themselves, "I want to do that!" So instead of getting into trouble on the streets, they're out touring the country playing beautiful music and getting an education that you can't get from gangs. That one young man who doesn't have a father all of a sudden has several because of drum corps. You all are ambassadors of our activity and you need to realize that you can reach that ONE kid. Although I grew up in an all-white city north of Buffalo, I saw that drum corps practicing when I was a kid and said, "that's what I want to do." Three years later at age 9, there I was. Because of drum corps, one of my best friends was black and the nicest person you'll ever meet. So for all of you who do march....become ambassadors and encourage!
  23. Okay, so you're white and for "some" reason you felt uncomfortable. This must've been some new site I didn't know about. Every show that was ever done in Buffalo has been held at Dunn Tire Park or University at Buffalo. I guess when the initial post came out it should've mentioned where in Buffalo the show took place. Next time they should try North Tonawanda (lots of white people there). Actually, you did sound racist in a way. As I have noticed in the past 15 years language patterns and dress styes all over the country are more African-American than "white" and even in the rural mid west so what's the big idea? Anyways, I am sorry you all felt threatened but we went to places in the 70's and 80's that were just as bad if not worse. Suck it up!
