  1. Or I could you could say it was also a Yankee and a bunch of Lancer guys.
  2. Let's remember this thread is about finding the last few pieces to the puzzle. If you're a baritone player and thinking about and or looking for a place to march give Empire serious consideration. This year is sure to be one of Statesmen's most memorable. As for the mouthpiece discussion young man the word "cheater" is relative. You should pick equipment based on one's ability and the requirements of your "job". NO mouthpiece in the world is a subsitute for sound technique and meaningful practice. That being said, go practice Kris! Dave
  3. You're right you should have O coooool one. Dave
  4. I can't believe you forgot the Mello-Dears as well, that's where I spent a good deal of time when I was a toddler. Dave
  5. Sandra Opie, Bonnie Ott and Barb Maroney are three that I can think of that were not only ground breakers in the activity but also set new standards for all in the activity. Dave
  6. Vibrato Jr. Codd, asleep at the wheel again. Isn't there camp this weekend March 28th and 29th!
  7. Hmmm.......... that brings us to interesting territory.
  8. Kris, you specifically told me yesterday that your dad and Tommy told you how to stay out of trouble on here. Young man you have opend Pandora's Box on this one. Hats, Hats .... oh boy! Dave
  9. Congratulations Joey! Web site looks great, CD sounds great. Hope everything is well. Dave
  10. Kris, excuse me but is your dad endorsing your participation DCP? I'm sure if need be, he will be willing to give you a few pointers. Dave
  11. I think I'll watch this thread for a while. I can't imagine it will get at all ugly.
  12. Tom, I just got home from a marathon rehearsal and I can confirm that the "Hilton Night of Jazz" will indeed be the debut of the Chez Big Band featuring......... Al Chez. Great time, great band. Very cool.
  13. Apparently, Vibrato Jr. Codd needs frequent reminders about his responsibilities. Or maybe he's just busy practicing.
  14. Ok, Ok ....let's set the record straight. First off, Ryan voluntarily played 2nd trumpet and did a good job, I guess he was saving it for Sunday. Ryan has improved a great deal since last year and has certainly matured as a player and generally doesn't take liberties anymore, well at least when he's around me. As for myself, I was to busy trying to figure out what language that the two UB people on either side of me were speaking, one being a physics major and the other a aeronautical engineering major. The UB kids did a great job and obviously have received some great instruction from the staff there. Look, I'm all for taking it up... but that gig belongs to those kids not me and I respect that. However, I guess next time I won't be so nice. lol I personally had a great time. Thanks to UB, Mr Mauck and Jim Allen for asking us to tag along. Dave
  15. Actually, after standing next to Vibrato Junior Codd at 2 camps I will say he is playing pretty well. It's kind of funny when I stand next to him, he seems to forget to play with vibrato. I suppose that happens when you have to worry about your music stand falling over.
  16. OK..... Vibrato Jr Codd Wasn't it your job to tell people about camp this weekend January 17th and 18th at Mercy High School in Rochester, and not let this thread slip to page 4?????????? Hmmmmmm?
  17. I believe the gas after a night at Nick Tahou's or Steve T's Hots is free. Oh wait........... wrong kind of gas.
  18. Official seating for Growney Stadium concert side is 2,100. As an alumni that has been there for many football games with a sold out stadium I would say the "unofficial" count for last night all told was probably more like 3,000 plus... all told.
  19. Yeah.... something like that, or whatever other names come up along the way.
  20. "Little Piggie" (lol) - that's one of those things that could stick.
