  1. better idea. give the $1 to Shadow so he can help get his corps at finals
  2. BOA bands get school funding. that helps
  3. whatever. pay me the #### dollar. you want technical lingo talk to my attorneys Dewie, Cheatem and Howe
  4. sweet thanks AMy...i actually know where most of those spots are!
  5. missed it sorry...thanks. sounds like a steal!!
  6. ok let's see here since you want people to do their jobs: DCA...bigger than it was for every year from 1965 to 2002 not counting 1987...check finals in a town that wants us and draws a crowd into the end zones...check providing a venue for alumni corps and mini corps when they don't have to...check better web site, a commercial for tv....yeah they're doing their job
  7. you call your feedback constructive? I've heard the grumpiest of judges deliver their message in friendlier ways
  8. glad you like it. or not. but hey feel free to create your own. maybe next year we can run a create your own DCA commercial contest. i'll warn you...there may be rules attached to it and a deadline. i know they irritate you and feel they work against you, but I want to preapre you for it now, so you have topics to gripe about all winter
  9. as for DCA... with the rapid growth of all age corps in the last 10...well ok, really 7 years....they are in no position to take on junior corps or a junior division. this isnt an organization with an office staffed full time. the administration all has real jobs or may be retired. With the rapid growth from primarily northeastern corps to corps from across the country, they have enough issues to worry about making sure that as they grow, things are done in a logical and affordable manner. while some there want rapid change, DCA's carefullymeasured approach is the way to go for them at this time, and for the next several years
  10. most DCA corps aren't using G brass anymore. as of right no, amplification is not legal...didnt even make it out of the instructors caucus last year. few DCA corps have a bunch of member jump in at the end anymore. as for the age...varies by corps. On a whole, DCA is younger than it ever was. You have a lot of kids now who go to DCA to cut their teeth, then go junior. Some go because they can afford it. some go because it's what school/work schedules allow. as foc Bucs..they go from teens to a bari player in his mid 50s with a fake knee.
  11. or at least merge some of the non directors in with the directors.
  12. not all of the fans, but more than a few. probably your best post ever
  13. and time will tell which wins. i'd say attendance numbers will be the deciding factor
  14. my guess is there was a wider seperation between was allowed in the marching band world and drum corps. with the influence of wgi especially where amps were allowed, and more designers being involved in all 3 worlds, it made sense to them to get the rule changed. that's really all I can think of
