  1. even the Rochester mafia is scared. Mr. Tony Baritone told em about you
  2. i've never asked for pop and i've lived here my whole life
  3. and we're warned every time you cross the line....state line that is :P
  4. sure...DCI runs shows there. looking at my DCI program, here are the corps listed as DCI All Age Members: Carolina Gold Royal Airs Chops Cincinnati Tradition CV Govies Kilties Minnesota Music City Renegades RCR Dream except for the 3 Minnesota corps, how many can claim they are within an hour of each other?
  5. is it just me, or are we getting overkill with almost everyone having black pants?
  6. many corps who have taken time off but got back together cite all of the years, on and off. i mean if we're gonna get nit picky about this, my god, don't we have more important things to debate like how long retreat will be this year when they add the best real bald head award?
  7. IMO...a redo of App Spring would rock, but you risk trying to reproduce...and better...an all time legend. look at Madison 96 vs 88 with Malaguena. cadets themslves doing WSS in 94 compared to 84. even the 90 Cadets Bernstein's greatest hits show suffered a bit. i'm all for great songs/shows being redone, but it's a no win.
  8. doubtful. too much #### ###### me off. if i have former students marching, i'll go for them
  9. in their defense, i think they see what Hop gets when he does speak out. #### look at what Feidler got last year when he spoke, then realized he needed to "clarify" his words.
  10. the biggest thing that can help Crossmen is staff continuity. if you keep changing staff every year or so, you get no consistency
  11. after seeing every corps at East, i found only 2 to truly be loud. i agree intonation is key, but intonation WITh volume at the right moments is a drum corps fans dream. since Cavies 02, i see a trend where everyone is trying more and more tosound like they did, and it's a shame...you can sound good and be loud too
  12. man the math involved the next 2 weeks to get this thing set up before prelims...wow.
  13. this is a cool idea...a level not usually seen in DCA in general as far as helping to tell a story.
  14. ok here's the deal.... first corps on turns on the lights...last ones on turn em off.
  15. i stayed up til 230 for you guys.....you owe me :P
  16. Bayonne had the greatest visual transition of all time :P
  17. ya couldnt tell until i saw the drill hole...the other 4 did a great job covering his parts.
  18. i think it will help...up high you cant hear the corps playing behind the talking, especially in that gorgeous intro. luckily i heard a tape of the corps playing sans bable, and it was outstanding, and made the build to the hit that much better and effective.
  19. way too many. i dont get why they waited til after scores to let Bayonne play. that may have added to the reason people left. but, i did hear people around me say "oh, old guys, time to go shopping" and they weren't exactly young people who said it. their loss
  20. don't get your hopes up. people still talk into microphones over gorgeous musical moments
  21. I dunno dude. i saw too much that ###### me off. i'll be honest, some of it i held back on. after seeing fur fly in here last week, i didn't feel like getting a love note from the admins in my PM box. as far as cities....well...i'd love Philly if i do start going again. I'd love Pittsburgh. but odds are, this regional too will end up in a dome. PA has none of those, plus Pitt and Philly are natural turf fields.....2 days of drum corps during what is usually preseason time aint gonna happen
  22. yo're right, and after further review of my hastily scribbled notes, i confused Seattle's and some parts of Crossmen. I was able to get Seattle's show, and i meant to say they didn't need it, and you could still get it. that's what i get for writing reviews at 2 am. thanks for catching my screw up, and sorry Seattle.
