I would like to see the opener of Madison's show be re-written and have the soloist come in earlier.

My high school has hosted drum corps in the past. I had to cringe on one occasion when a staff member walked around campus without a shirt and had nipple rings. He was also smoking.

Guard scores are going up!

Cadets are over Blue Knights, but I am concerned about the stagnation recently. However, other corps' scores seem to be also leveling off.

There used to be shows in Canada over 20 years ago. I remember traveling up to Montreal for a show. There were several corps in Canada (i.e. Dutch Boy) in the past.

Cadets score isn't moving up right now.

Too bad about the housing issue. They could stay at my high school, but this is in eastern Kansas! I am surprised the position was posted at this time.

Is there any word on changes occurring to the 1st half of the show?

That will be a long bus ride! I sure wish DCI would design the tour so the corps would only have to spend no more than 5 hours on a bus between contests. I know that I left my glasses in Wakefield, which were brought to the show that night and a neat Canadian Mounted Police t-shirt in Houston. On another point, I can't say how impressed I am with the leadership, staff, and mms this year.

Is the Scouts organization not able to pay Chris his full salary? Are the designers paid less than staff at other corps?

I know a lot of those people. Sal first got me interested in drum corps in the 70s. Jim Moore was great with movement. I remember him being on staff with the Cadets. I look at some of the staff on a couple of corps who aged out of the Scouts many years ago.

There is presently being another stadium built in Texas the same size as the one in Allen.

Perhaps the 1st half of the show will be re-worked during closed rehearsals. It will be interesting to see how this show progresses once the changes are made.

Zingali was on tour for part of the time for Les Miserables. I remember him being with the corps in the Midwest at that time.

I do feel crowds have changed over the years. However, I am going back to the late 70s. I have witnessed audiences standing up and giving polite ovations at the shows that I have been to over the past few years, whereas standing ovations would be occurring several times throughout a corps performance. Perhaps expectations have changed. Rifles and sabres are now expected to toss quints. Arranging has changed since the earlier years, though I do see a trend going back to some degree. Corps used to play longer segments of songs instead of small snippets. This sometimes causes a disconnect between the performance and audience. Another thing that I noticed at shows recently. Several people in the audience were on their cell phones texting people and not paying attending to the performances. I wanted to ask them why they even bothered to attend the show.

They broadcast the full shows of the Top 15 and segments of other shows.

Perhaps there needs to be more judges to even out the differences.

I do feel sorry for Madison being in 16th, especially since this is an anniversary year.

Does OC march a full corps? The corps appeared smaller than other corps earlier this week. It could have been there were holes.

GE score was low tonight in Katy. Was this a fluke?
