  1. Not positive but I believe we were "All-Age" before you were. You used to be DCI right?
  2. Finally!! I didn't think I could hold my breath any longer! This is going to be such a cool show!
  3. Hey Sayre.....when are we gonna start that Drum and Contra Corps?
  4. I believe (and I could be going off of old info) that if you change a note (or something significant) every eight measures then you can legally call it YOUR OWN arrangement no matter who originally did it. That's how it used to be anyway.
  5. This was a blast to do. I can't wait to do it with an even bigger hornline!
  6. Time for another bump! Getting excited about Open House. Oh yeah!! Christmas Party at our house afterwards. Come join the fun.
  7. MCL played a concert with the Nashville Community Concert Band on Fathers Day at Centennial Park!
  8. Perhaps it's because of what I read on here, Liz, that I feel that way. If Cabs show or Empires show or Bucs show gets mentioned people on here go on and on for pages about it. But mention an MCL show or a Frontier show or GCS show and you'll hear crickets chirping forever. Liz, I've never felt like you, personally, have discounted us. We did have an entertaining show this year and (I believe) a legitimate shot at Finals. But the only reason anyone thought our show was entertaining was because they chose to stay and watch it. Not because they thought we might actually be capable of producing anything of quality. I realize that it will take some time before people will see our name on the program and say "I want to see those guys"...and that's fine. But I think that people should take the time and see everyone if they can. Every Corps out there has the potential to surprise and deserves the respect. Their members work and sweat and give up their personal time just as much as any other corps out there.
  9. Liz, I've got nothing against any of the NE Corps (or ANY Corps for that matter) but when you are constantly discounted simply because you are not a NE Corps and don't have the "History" then you begin to wonder who's looking down whos nose at who!!
  10. Performing our show for appreciative fans and letting it all hang out on the field. Also getting to play through our show one last time in front of GCS and vice versa the next day. Getting to see some of my DCP buddies Wearing my Hawaiian shirt at Finals in honor of Fran and Barb. Hangin with my Corps for the last time this season.
  11. I think MCL's Scott Steward may have hit the highest note of the night. I guarantee that Joe Murphy was the highest screaming Contra of the decade. :wall:
  12. You know....my personal opinion about Prelims order of appearance is that scores should be thrown out the window. I think all Corps should be placed according to a blind draw. I've heard the argument that this will make it too difficult to fairly judge the top Corps against each other. I think this argument isn't worth the air it takes to express them. We are all competeing against each other...not just the top Corps againt the top Corps. MCL was competing just as hard against Bucs as they were Kilties or Cru. If a Corps is good enough they will rise to the top no matter when they go on. And the judges should not be conservative with their scores just because a Corps performs early in a show. Judge us on HOW we perform...not on WHEN we perform. Again... this is just MY opinion and does not reflect the official opinion of my Corps or my Corpsmates.
  13. Thank you so much for a great review! We are very happy that the crowd seemed to enjoy our show. It was a blast to perform. Our Contra soloist is none other than Joe Murphy of LOUD Mouthpieces fame. And yes he was playing on one of his own pieces. If you have any doubts about the performance of these mouthpieces I would suggest trying one out. They are incredible. Again we enjoyed doing this show for the fans and hope to be back in the mix in '08. And congrats go out to all the Finalist Corps. Hope you all have a great offseason and we'll see ya next year.
  14. I happen to be bringing two of this weekend for comfort wear. Depending on the circumstances of the evening I will be more than happy to wear mine at finals (unless of course I'm in Uni.) :)
  15. I thought there was still the issue of membership, affiliate, associate order?
  16. As a charter member of MCL this is the end of my 4th season. We've had an incredible time doing this thing called Drum Corps and I wouldn't trade a day of it for anything else. Other Charter members still marching: Laurie "Bunny" Ford (my beautiful wife) Dr. Willard Johnson Jim Reed Matt Dudeck Ed "Camel Lips" Mason Dr. Kary Lyon Regi Jones Scott Rhodes is still with the Corps as our Executive Director but is not marching It's sad to see that we've lost 11 of our original 17 hornline members (one of those just taking this year off) and all but one of our original pecussion and battery. Maybe we can entice a few of them back next year.
  17. Heck 92, 93 gonna seem cool compared to the week we've had in Nashvegas. We rehearsed in 102 degree heat on Sunday!
