  1. Now that felt great!!!!! And you KNOW Spirit loves some CROSSMEN too =) unity ONE!!! repeated
  2. Oh yeah and every corps could use a fashion police on off-days =) Its funny being on tour and getting dressed for an off day and thinking you are getting all prim and proper, but when you get off tour and get those pictures developed you realized everyone looks like a H.A.M =)
  3. Liam, if I were a decision maker for any corps and I noticed "my" sound guy looking unpresentable, I would most certainly get him a shirt from the souvie booth and ask him to wear nice shorts/pants. They probably have so much going on they haven't even noticed it. This seams like a situation where setting a standard of dress for the sound board guys is a littly petty, maybe if a corps set a precedent it would be better dealt with this way.
  4. Please be careful sir I just poured gas on the coals before you added them!
  5. This is a funny thread because after I read the OP and the first response, I immediately thought about how this subject corresponds to the real world. Now, I haven't noticed anyone looking like a bum on the field during a drum corps show--but if I do, I don't think I will be too alarmed. It's tour and sometimes just being plain comfortable is the best thing in world, especially when its hot. Having said that, what's up with people dressing down at other places that used to normally be a traditional attire sort of atmosphere. For example: Church, funerals, weddings, nice restaurants/clubs etc. well I hope yall get my point. I imagine that its easy to pick out someone in street clothing amongst a field of uniforms, so that probably makes it look worse than it really is. Could it be possible that some of us have dressed inappropriately on occassion? What would they be called if they were dressed nicely, but their clothes were 2x too big and their pants were so low that their undies showed? Maybe the sound folks need to wear polos but if they are volunteering and are not being judged couldn't we just overlook them?
  6. Spirit's show is about periphery its called "pe-ri-4-ry." There is an emphasis on the 4: notice the 4 different color groupings in the colorguard, many of the shapes in the drill have 4 sides, the colorguard unis have a 4 on them. There are 4 guard members that set a periphery(outer boundary) while the rest of the color set a periphery(inner boundary) for the rest of the corps. Basically drill within drill. Now, it may not be "Night and Day" (not knocking Colts at all...I really like their show) but I don't understand why the enjoyment can't come from the music and watching the drill? If Spirit had called their show "Setting Boundaries while incorporating the number 4" it still wouldn't change the fact that they are playing some nicely arranged music and marching great drill! They are dirty, but the blue print that is their show has substance--I hope you enjoy and "get it" a little more each time you see it. Thank you for giving all of us drum corps fans these great reviews =) I hope you are not offended by my post--I just noticed that a few of your reviews stated that you didn't get Spirit's show; so, I gave my 2 cents.
  7. 9-11 or as unsafe as that coveted 12th spot! Spirit, Crossmen, and Madison aren't just trying to get 12th! Congratulations to all the corps on their current placements, but "ain't nobody safe." Drum corps season is more like a marathon than a sprint--well yall get my point!
  8. yessir and Dr. Ray Vasquez has that hornline sounding NICE!!!
  9. hm....so you don't think BS should be .9 down from Spirit in Ensemble music and I think Spirit's brass score was a low ball score so maybe tonight the numbers will get closer to where we want them to be. Baby blue through and through!!! Go Spirit =) Oh yeah and to dcifan01 I think the Colts' show is very oldschool and pretty dang cool!
  10. I came to vent about caption scores but then I realized it wasn't going to help my corps, so I changed my mind. They better get it right the next time though
  11. and the award goes to.....Josh Walker of Spirit Drum and Bugle Corps!!!!
  12. I am using wireless but its dsl service. I can hear and see well enough to enjoy but not enough to say corps A was better than corps B on issues of technicality i.e. drill and non blatant horn issues.
  13. If the man says he thinks Spirit had better horns and guard then that's his opinion. It may be different from yours but its still valid. I really think its hard to say who is technically better than who from this live feed. My feed is fuzzy and the sound doesn't seem clear. Oh yeah and did I meantion this is really cool to be able to see the corps live like this!!!!!
  14. It is very important that we who love and support drum corps respect even the corps that don't make finals. Without those non-finalist corps, the top 12 corps want seem so special. ~Bradley
  15. hm.....just speculating here....but could the 4 in "pe-ri-4-ry" represent the the outline of the football field? or could it be in 4 parts without a door-- because then someone could open the door and get out, and then they wouldn't be bound anymore!? I'm just joking about the 4parts w/o door =)
  16. u should do lots of core strengthening in the off season!!!! #1) Crunches #2) reverse Crunches #3) push-ups #4) pull-ups #5) calf raises #6) lunges. Thats enough for now =)
  17. Thanks for the Spirit review!!!!! It makes me feel proud to know that did it for you =)
  18. um....if a corps made the night show at a regional and their score was lowered thus putting them below another corps score that they beat to make the regional night show in the first place makes about as much sense as this run-on sentence.
  19. okay for arguments sake we can fix by simply doing this....just take Spirits. 80.9 and make it an 81.9 and leave everyone else exactly the same and then everything will be correct!
