  1. Matt, I am interested in the K80. I sent you an e-mail this morning, but I don't know if it is an old address... Did you get it?
  2. Wow! Thanks Cozy, and everyone else! You don't know what this means to all of us! Yes, we made a choice to focus on being entertaining. We still want to score higher, but our focus is on the fans. The responses from the crowds at the stadium and at minicorps were wonderful! It makes it all worthwhile. So many people came to us over the weekend, and online, to tell us how much they enjoyed our performance. We really appreciate your applause and encouragement! Thanks so much!
  3. Our contra soloist stepped out of the box on the sideline. It's OK, though - he promised not to do it again!
  4. Ditto all the above - great tunes!!! Extra ditto for "Danny Boy". I can't believe no on has mentioned "Let It Be Me". Spirit '80 - Goosebumps, man!
  5. Well, not counting on-the-road rehearsals. BTW - HI BRENT!!!!
  6. Well, as you know, I can play contra. But, I don't wanna make Hef look bad! ^0^ Besides, someone's gotta keep the rest of the baris in line! And I'm just the man for the job! b**bs
  7. OK, I didn't read this entire thread, but here's my take: Drum and Bugle Corps IS NOT BAND! There are plenty of outlets for you if you want to march in a band. There are comparatively few outlets for you march in a drum and bugle corps. I've heard good bands, good college bands. They're entertaining - but they aren't D&BC. D&BC shouldn't be changed into yet another type of band just to satisfy woodwind players. You know what? Lots of musicians before you learned to play brass so they could march. They didn't expect us to change the very essence of the activity to accommodate them! D&BC has used brass instruments since before you were born. It is not our concern that you are 19 and can't play a brass horn - you put yourself into that position. So, you might not have enough time to get good enough to march a Div 1 corps - too bad. Think about the thousands of life-long brass musicians who never had the opportunity to march Div 1. I know - let's get rid of the age-limit! I'll be able to march Div 1 next summer! I know the tone of this posting is a little harsh - please don't take this as a personal attack. But think about the points I've raised. When you propose changing the very foundation of an activity, you change the activity into something else. I should add that these opinions are my own, and do not necessarily represent the position of my corps.
  8. Great news! Sounds like you guys hit the ground running! I also look forward to seeing you in Nashville in August. GOOD LUCK!!!
