  1. Is it just me, or has someone suggested that "well, BD had an off night" or "it wasn't their best run" after every show during the past week? And, this whole equivocation about the Saturday corps having an extra day of rehearsal is pure boulderdash. Isn't this the corps which was certain to blow everybody away by two points? Look, they may well still win, but an upset by BAC, Crown or Bluecoats has to be in the conversation now...at the very least. Look on the bright side, BD: by going last at quarterfinals, at least you'll have 17 additional minutes of rehearsal time that day..
  2. Different nights, same show. Has been for 26 years. Some folks here just keep on whistling past the graveyard.
  3. Another GREAT show, Boston! Stay on course, and MAY FAIR WINDS AND FOLLOWING SEAS LEAD YOU TO THE WHITE WHALE!
  4. Allentown has been considered one entire show now for decades. Get over it. And, something that NOBODY has dared to mention so far...with FOUR corps only .5 apart one-week before finals and 11 judges at finals, not only could BAC, Crown, BD, or Bloo win, but ANY of these 4 could also come in 4th... Including the Blue Devils.
  5. Correct. For decades, members left BAC to chase medals at the Cadets, including dozens of Massachusetts kids. After a management change at the end of 2007, 38 BAC members went to Cadets.
  6. As for somebody saying a high scoring corps tonight could be considered "beating" BD, I made no such claim. I am simply noting that this is a horse race, and YES several posters here have been claiming all freaking summer that BD will win by 2 points or better and not "lose any captions". I simply think that it isn't that simple.
  7. It's the exact same slate as last night's Allentown show.
  8. The door has been left open. Waldo smells blood. GET IT, BOSTON!
  9. Actually, Allentown is the one, the only show each year where you CAN compare the scores from the two nights, since there are identical judging panels in identical captions both nights. DCI does this by design, to help determine the order in Indianapolis. As for Bluecoats "solidifying that #2 spot", you may have overlooked the fact that just the night before, Boston was ALSO half a point ahead of Bloo. At present, the math would seem to indicate this is a horse race. And, for a few people here on dcp (not you, CHIEF GUNS) who spent this entire summer arrogantly declaring that nobody would get within 2 or 3 points of BD, you may have been a bit out over your skis.
  10. Yes...all four of these corps brought it tonight, and the HUGE crowd gave standing ovations to each. And Boston absolutely nailed it!!
  11. I was at the show. Boston spent the past 3 days putting in substantial changes to the end of Part 3 and the end of Part 5. Also, the guard tonight went with their "wind version" of their book. There is a surprise at the end of the show which although I watched them rehearse this afternoon they did NOT put our there tonight due to that wind. Having said that, this was BAC'S best show of the year! On to Allentown...
  12. This is correct. Also a maxed out score in any caption does not indicate "perfect". It DOES indicate that both design and performance in that particular caption are at the highest possible level in Box 5 as defined by the criteria reference wording. If your corps maxes out Box 5, you'll get the top score. The word "perfect" does not appear on any sheet in any caption.
  13. So, today is day one of their three day mini camp at the University of Deleware. They seem to be completely off the grid....all I'm hearing is crickets.
  14. I'm not hating on you...or anyone. The only comment of yours that I would take issue with is that Boston's show is somehow not engaging the audience. I respectfully disagree. The audience reactions especially since San Antonio have been off the charts, as evidenced by multiple standing ovations and over $40,000 in merch sales in one night. And for the record, I wouldn't care if you were a BD fan. They are a great organization, but when someone tells us we "have no hope of winning", that gets the juices flowing. As of today, Boston is going in a different direction from everyone else and spending a pre-planned 3 day mini-camp in Delaware. What they will be doing there is not known to me, but I know one thing for sure...they will be focused like never before.
  15. Good memory, Algernon. In 2016, BAC gained 2 full points on the entire field and jumped two spots in the final 2 days of the season.
  16. While I'm sure it is a minority opinion around here, I remain convinced that the Boston Crusaders will win on finals night. I'm no fair weather fan. I have been involved with them more than 40 years. BAC has survived far worse both on and off the field, and is more than capable of overcoming what amounts to less than a .2 deficit per caption. To any members reading this, have a tremendous two weeks and enjoy the love you're getting from fans everywhere !
  17. Congratulations to the Blue Devils for their win last night in Atlanta. A .85 spread one show and 1.9 spread the next, with both BD and BAC having stellar performances. I wonder, which panel was correct?
  18. Boston Crusaders, strength through adversity! We have survived far worse in our history. A great week ahead as you return to the Northeast, have your three day camp, and experience the Lawrence and Allentown shows! DEVORATE EOS, BOSTONIA!
  19. Hmmm...I seem to remember a certain corps from Rockford one year closing a deficit of 3.7 from BD during the last week of the season to beat them.
  20. A very strong performance tonight from BAC. Ignore the noise and stay focused Boston. Alot can and will happen over the next two weeks!
  21. Yes, Potter, May, Townsend, Cipriani, and McNutt all came in for the 2017 season....but you're leaving out one name who arrived at the same time.... MAX. If you know, you know.... ANOTHER GREAT JOB TONIGHT, SADERS!
