  1. Login: PRKnights (need verification, please) Corps' Name: Potomac River Knights Class: World Location: Brunswick, MD
  2. Me+ Not playing decent Tenors (wasn't even decent when I was at SSquared) + DHL Courier in financial and insurance issues right now = sorry Lee. Hope you find the last person.
  3. His last name is spelled "Hardimon". And besides, what's wrong with having a DCI Hall of Famer as a consultant? I bet Cadets have Thom Hannum as one a lot of times because of how close he and Aungst are.
  4. After some more thoughts, PRK is in this off-season. Stake Drivers and Caboose are getting some rest. My DCP-I username (for the DCP-I site, not this site): MAPS Corps Name: Potomac River Knights Division: 1
  5. I'd go with you, but I'm going for the field corps and not the alumni corps. Sorry, man.
  6. It is with a semi-sad heart that The Mid Atlantic Performance Series has decided not to field any corps during the this upcoming 'off-season' of DCP-I. As much as I would like to at least have one corps on the fantasy field, Music and show ideas are currently coming up short and if I chose to field all 3 corps and chose more shows, I would run out of shows after the next live season. However, by taking this 'off-season' to recuperate I believe that MAPS will return better than ever during the live season. I can state this, The Potomac River Knights are a founding corps of DCP-I and I refuse to see them fall from everything that was built. I cannot say the same for The Stake Drivers or Caboose, but I can guarantee that they will be around for many more years. Whether only live season or for both seasons, the rage from the nation's river will be back.
  7. POSSIBLE Sky? Last I heard, Sky isn't a possibility, it's a definite. GO GARBARINA!
  8. Good to see the Crossmen unis from 00-03 on board. As well as Sky being well represented.
  9. Adam, I can understand your concerns. However, I am speaking from a person who tries to make the grand score easier to understand for everyone. I can relate to using FACE for the main 4 drums and then use the two spaces above the staff for the spocks. However, TAFL does bring up a good point. Then again, I'm not a big percussion writer as of yet and haven't really written for 6 pack tenors, mainly quints, in which case I use the main 5 lines in the staff, which makes sense to ME. Maybe not to YOU, but it makes sense to the writer. If someone wants me to change it to go along with the "way it's usually written" then they can take the music and write it down the way they feel like it. Sometimes molds are meant to be broken.
  10. If the need is warranted, then I'll adjust and change it to g-above staff, e, c, a, f, d-below staff. Then again, if you all still think I should be tarred and feathered, that's your prerogative.
  11. Usually, the way I read and write tenor music is making sure that all my tenor players knew that the right spock drum was the higher pitched of the two and the left one was a little lower, this way you can write for 6 tones and make sure that the tenors know what's going on. So to reiterate: if the way that the music is notated is A above the staff, top line F, D, B, G, Bottom Line E. You know that the "A" is the right hand spock and the Top line F is left spock and then the subsequent main 4 are noted in the rest of the staff accoringly.
  12. You missed MAPS... oh well, I wasn't very active in the pre-season festivities.
  13. Good luck, Shenandoah. Knock 'em dead at DCA's. For those who are wondering: I am not with Shenandoah Sound. After the 2006 season, my time commitments with other organizations compromised too much time from Shenandoah Sound and thus, I left the corps. I have no ill-regards to the corps members, Staff, nor volunteers. Hopefully we can reconcile next year when we meet again on the competitive field. Btw, what happened to Tom, Sean?
  14. Username: MAPS1985 <edited, JH> D1: Potomac River Knights D2: Stake Drivers D3: Caboose
  15. MAPS would like to take the Frederick, MD show on July 5 as our homeshow.
  16. I'm happy with the designs David and myself decided upon. Although PRK is the head brainchild of MAPS, I have to admit that I love The Stake Drivers' uniform more. Caboose's uniform makes me believe that the corps is indeed the dark horse of ALL divisions and could compete against everyone, if I decided to experiment with the divisions for them. PRK just seemed to warrant the colors of the american flag, yet still be tastfully done. So as I said, I'm happy with them overall.
  17. *Press Release to all DCP-I directors* The Mid Atlantic Performance Series have decided their intentions on the 2007 "Live" season in DCP-I. It is unfortunate to announce that due to being in constant scheduling conflicts, as well as lack of show ideas, The Engineers have been dissolved and will only be participating in another Fantasy Drum Corps Circuit. The Director understands that this is very unfortunate for the other directors. The show announcements for PRK, Stake Drivers and Caboose have been decided by the board of directors. The Potomac River Knights are proud to present: "A Heroic Gathering". This show will take segments and main characters from all of the "anime" themed shows of past, as well as a few new characters, and combines them into a great final battle. It has been learned that "Trail Of Tears", a predominant Wind Ensemble piece, has been announced as a piece being performed. It has also been confirmed that John Williams' "Summon The Heroes" has also been announced as the Closer. More details are to come. The Stake Drivers are pleased to present: "Salem: Witchcraft and Betrayal". This show is in retrospect to the infamous "Salem Witch Trials" based in the historic Massachusetts village back in 1692. The entire show is being arranged from the Dr. Mark McCoy original composition of his first symphony "A Symphony For Salem, 1692". Caboose is thrilled to present: "Dances". This show will integrate two Wind Ensemble works. First "A Suite of Old American Dances" will take the stage with "Cake Walk", then "The Peasants Plea" from Alfred Reed's "Armenian Dances #2" shall take the field. We continue with "Khoomar" from "Armenian Dances" as a wedding has been set, but not without some trouble. Finally we end with "Songs For Lori" from "Armenian Dances" to close out the show. Final song selection and casting for PRK's show shall be announced in the near future.
  18. I might be joining you there in the pressbox next season. I'm in a quandry for show ideas and couldn't give enough attention to all my corps this past season.
  19. Ye make sure ye have a pint ready for the Corps from the Nation's River. We haven't even peaked yet. Me thinks a berserker will occur. And the results will be gratuitous.
  20. I can attest to the outlook with this corps. They are very hungry to put out this phenomenal show. There is no pressure when I was at the last rehearsal on the 10th. The staff is excellent and the corps has the dream. YOU just have to see it to believe it. I went to the rehearsal and I want to march this corps, but college and a possible summer teaching job would make things very difficult for me to march this summer, although I would return if the teaching gig does fall through. So go on up to Dover, hang around with some great people and have a good time. Play some of the show, interact with the staff (which are very approachable, btw.) and then make your decisions.
  21. somehow, I see myself waking up in florida after P.O. in Ro-CHA-CHA...
  22. Umm.... Why haven't Stake Drivers, nor Caboose been out since the Baltimore Show? I gave the schedule for them and that have both missed at least 3 shows. Someone just too mad that they'll be obliterated by those two corps?
  23. *PRESS RELEASE TO ALL DCP-I FANS* The Mid Atlantic Performance Series is in high gear going into the final week of the first month in competition. The Potomac River Knights started slowly, however the perseverance has shown immensly by the most recent show in which they have upset the returning powerhouse Mystré in a most heated contest in Normal, Illinois. This has to be a real jumpstart for PRK as they were humiliated at their home show, in Baltimore Maryland, by everyone else in Division 1 at the show. The Engineers are also in hot pursuit with a hard fought second place finish in the Raleigh, NC show. The Stake Drivers and Caboose have been idle this week after their home show in Baltimore and are preparing for a grueling workthrough in the coming weeks. Scott Smith, organization director was available for comment. "Well, I am surely happy that PRK has caught Mystré and in such a short time. Do I think that we can constantly beat them? I'm not saying jack at this point. The whole show based on Evangelion seems to have really been a hit or miss show. Unfortunately, we missed big time in Baltimore. The Engineers have impressed me from the beginning of the season and I am proud to say that we may have an 'inter-organizational' rivalry on our hands if this keeps up. If you'll excuse me, I need to talk with management of both corps via IM and mouth. I'll let you speak with our Guard 'headliners' as we have learned to have in our shows as a tradition." *Pause for the 'headliners' to be seated* Reporter: Well, could you tell me who you portray in this production? 'Shinji' (S from now on): Well, I portray Shinji Ikari. Third child and the angstiest boy I've ever known of. 'Asuka' (A from now on): I portray Asuka Langley Sohryu. Very confident, very emotional. Pretty difficult to act like from time to time. S: Doesn't act like it A: What did you say, Dummkoff?!? 'Rei' ( R ): Please do not engage in any un-needed beatings. As for the question, I portray Rei Ayanami. first child. I find her character to be almost impossible to comprehend as at times. "Misato' (M): I portray Misato Katsuragi. The character is very fun to be and does have a benefit for the job. *Misato decides to 'hug' Shinji* A: Sheisst, just get a room. M: Should we, 'Shinji'? *Shinji could only blush and shake his head* Reporter: *sweatdrops* Okay, well... continuing on... 'Ritsuko' (Ri): Ritsuko Akagi, Doctor and borderline psychotic woman. Having to dye my hair blonde was a travesty for me. Mr. Smith (from afar, how he heard.... we don't know): Ritsuko, you know that it needed to be done for the overall effect we need. You can change back to your brunette locks after the season. S: How does he do that? A: Beats me 'Toji' (T): Well... anyway, I portray Toji Suzahara. I think he's the easiest character to be portraying. A: Yeah, he's a jock and a pervert. You make a fine Toji. 'Hikari' (Yes, H): Stop it you two. Anyway, I play Hikari Horaki. Class representative, overall good girl and a nice addition to this overall outlook. Reporter: Umm... if I recall NGE correctly, Hikari was a minute figure. Wouldn't that.... H: Never mind that, it still gives a decent fron to have some minut's with the mains, right? *Reporter tilts his head quickly and acknowledges* Reporter: Well... now that we've met. How does it feel to interact between you all on the field and off the field? A: Well, it started off as interesting because there's a portion in which 'Shinji' is behind the female leads. Needless to say, our guard instructors decided to try to make the dance very borderline on decency. S: DECENCY?!? You call bending over and... *'Shinji' gets his mouth clasped shut by 'Ritsuko' and 'Misato'* H: Well, it does serve a purpose. Not to mention that the other guardies like it. M and Ri: Well... when we see a particular commoner who's also the 'spy' A: Yeah... we even have a 'Kaji' R: Yes, it does have the correct feeling when thought through completely. Although, I believe Suzahara seems to enjoy it more. *All girls give a glare of death to 'Toji', who gulps and leaves hastily* Reporter: Hmm.... well, it does seem to work. Wait a minute... 'Asuka', you and 'Shinji' were members of the most recent Guards from PRK history from way back with 'InuYasha's Journey' many seasons ago. A: Yep, I was one of the commonfolk. I then moved from commoner in both InuYasha's Journey and 'DragonBall' to being Meryl Strife during the 'cowboy' show and now I'm lead female in this show. which is also my last season. S: Ah, you finally recognized me? I, too, was a commoner from 'InuYasha's Journey'. I was then Krillin in 'DragonBall' and Jet in the 'cowboy' show. Finally I'm lead and have a good friend as my co-star. A: You always were the better one S: Ah, they just needed a helper for the lead. You finally got there. *'Asuka' leans against 'Shinji'* M: Now who needs the room? *Both 'Asuka' and 'Shinji' jerk away from each other and blush as Reporter laughs* Reporter: I think I see Ms. Greenawalt walking our way. I'll let you all go. *'Headliners' get up and move toward Ms. Greenawalt* Well, seems as though we may have another 'InuYasha's Journey' on our hands. Until next time... *THIS CONCLUDES THE PROCEEDING PRESS RELEASE*
