I like their show also. BD doesn't get a lot of love on this sight, but people just get tired of them winning.

Cavies were a little boring tonight.

I always like cavies visually, but I am having a hard time loving this show for some reason. They look pretty clean though.

Spread tonight will be 1.4.

It is going to be very difficult to catch BD this year as they don't have a weak link like their percussion was last year.

Life would be so boring if we all had the same taste, but I personally love BD's show.

Congradulations on getting it together. I with I could be there to see everyone, but I will have to wait for Dublin. It is so nice to have the Freelancers back on the field in any form.

Congradulations to Phantom. I really did not think they would pull it out, but they are a class organization with my old schoolmate Ricky V (Moreau Catholic!!) helping them out!!!! No corps can pull on the heartstrings like PR. Well done and I am sorry for doubting those kids from Rockford.

Excuse me, I went to 1996, but I meant for the Title. Phantom has never beaten BD for the Title and they look to be coming up a little short this year as well. We shall see. I love Phantom, I just love BD's colorguard and visual package more than Phantom's and being a colorguard guy that I what I look at the most. I do get more emotional from Phantom's show, but that doesn't mean they should win. I see Phantom getting a bump tonight , perhaps even perfection in music, but their guard score will drop as they, IMHO don't deserve 2nd in guard and that will be the difference. BD by a tenth!

This really is a midwest thing. BD was being bashed on this forum all year last year and yet a finals they not only won but the crowd was on their side. Of course, Finals was in CA so what do you expect. BD has many haters because they are almost always a threat to win, but why after beating Phantom in Quarters and Semis people think BD is just going to fall apart because they have to go on after Phantom realy baffles me. BD will win by a tenth, once again proving that Phantom just cannot beat BD when it counts! (A little West Coast love to even this message board out!)

I used to love the guards in WGI years ago, but I do not find the colorguards as entertaining or daring as they once year. They are better dancers and I suppose their shows are very innovative and creative, but the crown seems bored as I went to a regional here in Hayward, CA a few years back. I love to watch drum corps and I love to listen. Since I am not a musician I am drawn more to the guard when I am watching a show. You can wish all you want that the visual is in service to the music, but the score sheets show visual and music as equal as I believe it should be.

But you are knocking BD and Cavies, and I find it difficult to believe that you were suprised of the placements since BD and Cavies have been beating Crown im most shows this year.

It has to be 50/50. Why even go to a show and watch if you thin that visual is not or less important. Just buy the CD. As a former colorguard peson I get irritated with the music is most important school of thought for obvious reasons. Pehaps they should have a new drum corps category let's say Open Class, World Class andInstruments Only? I wouldn't pay a cent to see just standtill. I understand that a lot of people who feel Visual is most important are Phantom Honkers for obvious reasons, but should we really change the scoring system to accomodate the corps you want (Phantom) to win so they (Phantom) can finally win a title all by themselves.

Wishful thinking by Thread Creator, but anythng is possible. I dpn't think phantom is behind because they are dirtier, I believe they are behind visually because of inferior design to BD and Cavies. My predicition, BD increases spread over Phantom to 1.8 but their spread with Cavies shrinks to 4 tenths.
