  1. When it comes to the Brass Ensemble competition DCA doesn't follow or enforce the current rules. David Martin
  2. I know the Hit Men Brass Band WON'T be invited.
  3. Make sure you start with a mouthpiece that sounds good in all registers. The cup should be large enough to accommodate easy lip buzzing after your lips fill with blood. (after a few minutes of playing) Most Important (90% AIR 10% LIP) Good Luck!
  4. Looks like St. Joe's of the mid to late 60's. One of the finest french horn players that ever played in drum corps, Joe Olverd (unbeatable at I&E's of the 60' and 70's) Baritone player I'm not sure who he is. The soprano player is Lavern Dewitt.

  9. The stadium works better than a baseball stadium and not as well as a football stadium. I wish it had a little larger seating capacity. But for DCA it seemed to do the job.
  10. The police presence was highly visible and they were helpful an friendly. I saw a peaceful environment outside the stadium all weekend. Kudos to RPD!

  16. John, Thank you for the kind words. Shamrock Festival Committee, The Hit Men Brass Band would like to publicly thank the Reilly Raiders ( Carol, Frank, Tony and Al, to name a few) for giving us the opportunity and artistic freedom to entertain your wonderful audience (supporters) at the Shamrock Festival Concert this year. We also appreciated the extra effort, you put forth, that made our trip so special. You folks took care of it all, and then some. Thank you all. Appreciation is also due to Lambertville for their willingness to share. We owe you one, just ask! THANKS The Hit Men look forward to the next time our paths cross this Labor Day Weekend!
