  1. I love both corps! It's all about the Breathe Daaaaaaaaaaaah........ In my best Bostonian accent ...."Waaarm Dahk Choacalaty Aiah!"
  2. '91 Star!!!!!!!!!! Sheer Emotion in the closing of the show. I still cry when I watch that show. '90 Star. Still brings tears to my eyes too! '98 Cadets '95 Cadets looked pretty difficult, especially when about three or four folks hit the ground, going into the company front! OUCH!!! I will always love the '85 Garfield Opener!
  3. What makes A GREAT hornline? BREATHE..... DAAAAAHHHHH...............................!
  4. I don't know for sure, but I wouldn't be surprised to see a few Star alums at BW3's near the RCA dome that night. Mmmmmmmm..... BEER! Mmmmmmmm.....Wings!
  5. You are right, too bad Star wouldn't be there. You do know that Star didn't win that show until '89.
  6. Yeah..... bring back the '86 unis, along with a revisit of that show while they are at it!
  7. If gas doesn't stop rising, I'm afraid for all corps' futures, especially the Div 2/3. A central location seems to make the most sense to me. Maybe Arrowhead in KC. I marched there and didn't think that it was bad. I also love Madison. Just don't care for the parking situation. I loved Denver last year, however the sound gets sort of lost up in the nosebleed (where I was sitting) of that huge stadium. How about the Cotton Bowl? In '88 they said at finals that it would be in Montreal in '89. That obviously changed some time after the announcement. So who really knows where it will be next year? If it is west next year, Div 2 will finally have to deal with The Academy for the first time, probably. From what I've seen of their scores, they could fair extremely well!
  8. DANG YOU! I WAS GONNA USE THAT REFERENCE! "Who is it" "It's me Dave, open up, I got the stuff" That would make me laugh my ### off!
  9. I'll be at the UA Breckenridge in Little Rock, Arkansas, sporting my pink Star t-shirt!
  10. That's what I was about to say! How could you consider Phantom's Greatest hits and not throw in New World. How about a little Sparticus? That's what they should do for their 50th Birthday. One or the other or maybe a mix of both.... hmm....
  11. That is really awesome for the div 2/3 kids!!!
  12. The Crown hornline is in very good hands. I'm positive that there is a "Star" style brass technique going on in Carolina. Matt Harloff, Donnie Van Doren, Ben Harloff, Barry Hudson, Frank Sullivan= Star Brass Technique! However this style or technique that I speak of was around before Star, example Garfield Cadets circa '81-'84.
  13. When you hear someone being negative or mean spirited or lacking class, just ask "who's your corps?" when they answer just say "You have a very nice corps....." then turn and walk away.
  14. Maybe it was Donnie Van Doren. You can certainly hear and see him in the finals performance of 1982. He communicated with the hornline that whole show. Just look for him at the bottom of the screen behind the DM in the first row of stands!
  15. Donnie VanDoren, Jim Prime Jr. Two of the best! What about staff members that have worked with these two great men like Barry Hudson, Tim "Shorty" Bartholomew, Frank Sullivan, Matt Harloff. Just to mention a few.
  16. I saw Star play their last regular season show in Little Rock, Arkansas in '91. They nailed that show. I believe even Bill Cook has stated that show was his favorite Star performance ever. Watching them rehearse that day and play that night was truly amazing.
  17. '74 Kingsmen '75 27 Lancers '77 Bridgemen (what a bunch of squealing PIGS in that hornline)
  18. That's really nice man.... very classy. Are you bitter?
