  2. I heard Camel and llama are rough competition as they only "do" parades and are known for leaving "behind" party packages for the competition...be careful where you step.....lol (sorry...just had to reply when I saw the post) Have a great 4th to all the corps...go make the parade cash!
  3. Did the new corps Coastal Surge not perform or where they in exhibition...no score listed? Thanks in advance.
  4. Jeff, Thanks for the input. Quite a shame we don't even get a summary...but all we are are the paying public who support the activity....lol.
  5. Is it just me or did the fox get into the hen house this weekend? I am starting to think I am watching swamp people or one of those other extremely "educational programs" that are out right now where nothing seems to make sense but somehow it does after you have cried at just how foolish people and situations can be. This is NOT good no matter how you look at it. Quick patch for 1 year then right back to the same place or more than likely worse.
  6. Thanks for the answer. I hope they put up something soon.
  7. Does anyone know if /when we in DCPland will get to know what really happened at the meetings? Does DCI release the minutes or a summary of what occurred? Thanks in advance for an answer from hopefully someone who knows.
  8. Ok, I have read the posts that have been put up here and have one simple question that I do not believe can be answered by the limited information we currently have available to us. That question is "Do you really vote on board members that are CURRENTLY affiliated with another group/circuit that they announced to the Drum Corps world earlier this month? To me it seems as that is the easiest way to allow them to find a way to do as they wish with the power given to them now on the DCI Board. Also, are the minutes released publicly for our viewing pain/pleasure? There has to be so much more that occurred for this to have happened. Well, at least 1 more year for Drum Corps as we know it.
  9. Congratulations to the Troopers organization! Your letter was truly one of a caring organization that is willing to stand up for the activity in a time of turmoil. YOUR voice should be heard loud and clear as you are one of the founding members of DCI. I hope to see the other "non G7" corps stand up and be heard as well. I surely will support a the Troopers a bit extra this year as a "Thank You" for there stand for DCI.
  10. Mr. Hensley, A well thought out and great concept. Puts them in a position that they haven't even thought of...NEEDING to come back and the penalties associated with it! This group the "G7" need serious counseling by a group of professionals...LET THEM GO! EXIT ...STAGE RIGHT! Let the New DCI begin!
  11. Jim, I wanted to thank you so much for your post. it truly brought tears to my eyes. I had the opportunity to be at Finals this year with a Drum Corps friend who invited me to go with him. (Thanks James...it was a killer time!) After not being able to attend for several years it was an "odd" feeling the day after, even after all the years had past. Maybe it was seeing so many old friends, or was it going on the field hours before Finals that DCI offers fans to do and getting that feeling back or knowing what each member feels like getting ready to give every last bit of what they have left to the last show of the year or of there marching years. You said it all so beautifully...and I agree with several other poster's...it is great to see such a positve post after Finals. Know matter who wins, what score they got, who did this or that we are ALL brothers and sisters in a huge fraternity call Drum Corps! Congrats to ALL the Corps for an awesome 2012! Bob
  12. Thanks corpsband! I appreciate knowing others are seeing the same thing. It is truly a rough Drum Corps world when a corps can take two completely different styles of music, from different times, merge it together seamlessly, put an entire twist on it, put it on the field and perform it to no limit and not get the credit it deserves. I really guess it is like when the Bridgemen where out...no one realizes how great you have to be as a corps BEFORE you add any and all of the "fun" to a show. Crown has brought a new level to Drum Corps just as the Bridgemen did in the past but I guess no one see's just how Great they really are, and they are getting the same treatment as the Bridgemen did. Go figure, those that add ANY enjoyment to Drum Corps get slammed. Let's just hope the scales fall from there eyes! Once again I state...this is just my opinion and a reply to a post... please no flaming. Thank You.
  13. OK, this is my first post this season so here goes. After having seen in person or by VOD all the corps this year I am by far most blown away by Carolina Crown. I am not an alum of the corps, I am an alum of a corps that they are actively battling with and have to say that Crown is THE WHOLE PACKAGE bar none! It has been so many years since a corps put on such an amazing original show from before they take the field right up to the last note(what an amazing idea...this show is crazy) I have watched the show over and over, along with all the others and I must say I truly feel they are not getting the scores they should be getting...this corps should be hands down the DCI world Champion if they continue to perform this week as they have been performing. I can only hope that by finals night the judges take off there blinders and that Carolina Crown gets the score they deserve. My hat is off to the kids, staff and management of Crown... what an amazing program and performance(s). You truly have won a new fan! Please NO flaming...this is just my opinion. Thank You Crown!
  14. I am in total agreement with you about PC. I think they are actually scoring much too low compared to Academy...these 2 corps should be swapping back and forth. I hope that fairness prevails as this is the best PC corps that I have ever had the chance to see. Keep up the great work to all the corps.
  15. I dont post often nor do I need to but this one is I had to chime in. I haven't be able to follow this issue from the beginning, but I must say I am not surprised who is at the helm...GH I used to wonder about how worthwhile DCI was as I really thought that GH and his clan had alot of control....I must say KUDOS to you Dan A. You have really stood up for not only DCI but the most important part of DCI....the members of the corps. Dan, stand your ground and build DCI the right way....and if you have to let the G(fill in what ever number it actually becomes when the dust settles) go then let them go! Blessings to you. tbobaz
  16. To Sunblock_Sweat, Your response to the whole Spartans situation really hit a chord for me. It's been years since I marched and I felt every word you wrote. Know that even though alot of what you are reading and hearing is bad don't ever loose that love and honor you have for the corps. Thanks for letting many of us out here know your feelings...it is important at this time to do so. Keep the faith..whatever happens we all know that you have honored your corps! Blessings to you!
  17. I felt the narration took away from there program, they had a great corps why take away from it. I too, at first did not like any narration, but uses like crown this year added to the show. Cadets just seemed to go way overboard. This is just my opinion. Thanks for the thread.
  18. Thank you Crown for an incredible show this year! You by far were my favorite and your show told the story most effectively --you just were great all around. Keep it going and bring us another gem next year!

  20. I saw the Scouts in Tempe and barring being a bit dirty in there drill they are Incredible! The Guard is a bit weak, but the remainder of the Corps is awesome. They could possibly contend for the 12th position if they clean up prior to quarterfinals! They are definitely on the rise again! Go Scouts!!!
