  1. JC, Thank you for allowing us to get to know a little about a legend. The news of Lothar saddened us all. The CorpsVets also wore a black ribbon on their uniforms. It was placed next to our star in the 8:00 position to honor him and signify the approximate time he ascended from the "field of battle". A friend, a brother, a son, a Kiltie. God Bless, Lothar. May you make the corps in the heavens above better as you join our other fallen drum corps heroes and march on... forever!
  2. Don't forget about the corps that was 1.65 out of finals! They are doing great things in Dubuque, I think they have found something and fresh that will get them back into the mix come next year. I wish there was at least another week to the season!!
  3. I'd buy one!! I am a married man but I could put it in my "man" room!!! :)
  4. NIKK! Brotha! What a theory that would be. I have not seen Phantom's show this year except on the Season Pass (yes, I am a subscriber). I LOVE THIS SHOW!!! I hope they win but I don't think they will overtake Cadets (once again, I hope they do). Will be watching in anticipation in Hunsville at the theater!!
  5. OK! The two tickets in Row 16 have been spoken for. One ticket remain in Section 1RR, Row 15, Seat 15.
  6. Don't cheat!! Cheating to hit high notes will only hurt you as a player when you get older and more experienced.
  7. I have in my possession one ticket and access to two more for the Murfreesboro, TN show. These seats are very near each other, Section 1RR, Row 15, Seat 15 and Row 16, Seats 18 & 19. They are $40 each. If you are interested please drop me a line at bjjr1919@hotmail.com. They go to the first offer I receive. Thanks.
  8. I am interested as well, along with their stars for the uniforms. In other words... BUMP!! :)
  9. Unless we are talking about two different shows, I beleive it was Kansas. The one I remember was 1993 during an exhibition for a high school done by G'men, Colts, and Black Gold. G'men went on last and right in the middle of the show the field sprinklers came on. If I remember correctly, they finished the show and they turned off right as they started to come off of the field.
  10. Actually, I thought the 90 unis were worse...TERRIBLY unforgiving of body flaws... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> There were body flaws on that guard? ####, could've fooled me!!
  11. That was the one that jump out to me, too. Although, I don't think there is one bigger than the 89 Devils soloist. ALthough there was one in the 98 Colts show that was pretty disastrous. Or how about the rifle for Cadets during their feature in 2002. Or even 1993 Cavies, I believe a contra player bit it right before a company front. Then again, after Madison took the field it was a mess from then on.
  12. I almost forgot about 1991 Spirit. I still think that show placed WAAAAAAY to low.
  13. Here are some: 1987-1989 Florida Wave 1997 Colts 1993-1996 VK 2002 Colts Not a bias, just throwing them out there because no one else has yet.
  14. It was 1989 when the whole corps (except guard) wore the masks. Try www.corpsreps.com and look up SCV and hit "picture gallery". If not, just do a google search for 1989 Santa Clara Vanguard and see what you can get.
  15. I have to say that 1989 all the way around was probably one of my greatest years in drum corps, it was also my rookie year. I was at finals (watching from the stands, dagburnit!) and saw first-hand the awesome performances by Phantom and SCV. I can tell you that I truly thought Phantom had done enough to take the title that night. SCV's show is still my favorite to date (followed by their '87 show). A lot of people may think that the ride cymbals in the middle of Phantom's show is what did them in, and maybe it is. You have to give them credit for an original take on that piece and for the fact that it was still played beautifully. I guess you can say that I am still mixed about that night, but I still believe that Phantom should have won their first title in 1989 and not 1996. If you were to look at a show and call it the epitome of the drum corps experience you would be hard pressed not to choose either one of these shows. As a matter of fact, I am going to go watch them right now.....
  16. My signature tells of my junior corps experience. I did jr high and high school bands, marched all four years in high as tuba section leader, three years in college (two different schools), and now I am in my first year of senior corps. I took 10 years off between marching corps to start a family and join the military. :)
  17. OK! Why? We have rave reviews about this product on this thread, tell us why you hate it.
  18. So true!!! I am playing on one right now and it's definitely the best contra I've played on. I believe the one I am playing on right now was formerly a Devils contra.
