  1. You know that! Son is back at AU this year, grad student!! Email me and let me know what is up drummergirl.
  2. Good thing they don't have any narration or you might be able to figure out where they are on the field regardless of their camoflauge uniforms. Don't think they will take anyone, they won't score to high in the Visual category.
  3. We have driven to the dome every year and parked in the lot near the Corps parking. Never had a problem getting in or out (of course we stay longer and visit the corps). We will be driving from Auburn Alabama to Milton to visit some of the guys in the Cavaliers and then back to the dome for some of the afternoon corps. Is there construction that wasn't there on 75/85 at the end of June? Didn't have too much of a problem then. If anyone has time to go to the Aquarium or the World of Coke, do so, they are great. But don't try to take food into the Aquarium, or gum, not even in your purse, they will make you throw it out. Or just don't tell them you have it. Hotels near the airport are cheap too (Comfort Inn, Sleep Inn, those types) and you can take the train from the airport into Atlanta too. Hope everyone has a good time, I love going to the Georgia Dome, just hate that they don't have all the bathrooms open.
  4. The judges see the same show over and over, if they see the same old thing from one group each week, where is the improvement and how can they give them higher scores? If there are changes, they know they have been doing something different that week, adds to the show and shows that a Corps can improve. It's like grading someones work in class, if they keep doing the same thing all year and never learn anything new, how can I assess them and how can they improve. Also, have you ever tried learning a show as hard as most of these groups have on finals night in the first weeks of pre-tour? These kids can only absorb so much information and refine it at one time.
  5. No it's not, they always wait until now to put in a new ending. Every group is adding news things each week and will be until the final performance. Where have you been?
  6. Atlanta is the same too. But I think it is worth it. Depends on where you sit. Higher is better in Drum Corps, lower is cheaper. If you think it costs too much, get the fan network and watch it at home for 69.00 the whole summer.
  7. If you have kept up with the Cavaliers over the last 5 years, they never add their ending until Murphreesboro or Atlanta, so I am sorry you are wrong, it is not too late. Added their ending in 06 the week of the Atlanta Show and look how they ended up. 04, they tweaked and added in Indianapolis. They will have a new ending before long, just watch.
  8. Hey drummergirl, weren't you supposed to be with Teal this summer? Or am I mistaken?
  9. Cavaliers have a lot to add and their new ending, they aren't near finished.
  10. Did everyone else's feed cut out on the BD's score? Sorry if this was posted already, been trying to post and DCP is super slow. Blue Devils - 92.375 The Cavaliers - 90.975 Crown- 90.025 Phantom - 89.775 Cadets - 88.725 Bluecoats- 86.65 SCV - 86.425 Blue Knights - 82.7 Boston - 82.45 Blue Stars - 80.675 Glassmen - 79.95 Crossmen -77.275
  11. Nice going Crown, what a good placement. I see Cavaliers getting better when the new ending comes, reminds me of 2004. BD is clean but they usually stay the same the rest of the season. I think Crown is the Cinderella team of the summer! Nice going Blue Knights too.

  13. Pretty impressive sound. Good thing I am not a judge, I would have a hard time.
  14. I have always loved their horn sound! Clean and pretty. Angel show of 2005 was awesome, beautiful music just like tonight.
  15. Erick Johnson writes the pit parts this year, he took two years off and is now back.
  16. Big help that Erik Johnson came back. He was the glue that held them together I believe!
  17. Last I heard (last night) was that he had a gall bladder attack. Were deciding last night whether or not to have it taken out. Haven't heard since. But when I do, will let you all know. Hit him at 3:00 Friday morning. Guess the new ending will be in Atlanta not San Antonio. Hmm. Just found out via son (former Cavie) that Brandon is doing fine. Had his gall bladder taken out, is resting, and according to Brandon he is really sore and nauseated.
  18. Very cool move Cavies. Their Guard sergant is in the hospital. Get better Brandon!
  19. That is my thinking as well. I am not against alcohol, but how many teenagers and pre-teens are at Drum Corps events. What message are giving them? If we are trying to promote this activity to the youth, then I feel that alcohol should not be served. There are several good points in many of the posts, and it does depend on the stadiums and their policies. I have been to some that allow alcohol and haven't seen any problems, the beer was too expensive to get more than one. But as I said before, how many youth are in the audiences and what message do we want to give them? Just my thoughts. Stadiums are gonna do what they want to do.
  20. Bevinator - Love the Puppy picture!!! What's its name? Cute, Cute Cute. Hope Ashley is doing well today. we saw it on the playback, ouch!! (couldn't hear it since there was no sound on the playback for some dumb reason).
  21. Yeah, wish they would just show High Cam the whole time. Totally missed the Cavies jumping over each other, showed the same guard guy most of the time.
  22. Yep, The Cavaliers used one in the Machine show of 2006! I know, my son played it. It is also know on Virtual Drumline 2.
  23. That is what I asked them too, but they didn't seem to care. Almost as maddening as the year they said we couldn't take pictures of the corps on the field. I did it anyway, you see how long that lasted! All the parents in the stands agreed, these are our children, we will take pictures of them if we want to take pictures. We were the ones spending the money so they could march. Still wish I could get that age out picture of my son!
