  1. Do you mean the mellophone part and trumpet solo that go from Wild Nights into the King's Prayer? I don't really think that there is a trumpet solo before Wild Nights.
  2. Yet again we come back to the discussion that of course drum corps has never in the past taken anything from a marching band. [/sarcasm] On topic: I really like that shirt. It's a great point with a nice design.
  3. and Gordon Goodwin rocks too. I love the Big Phat Band.
  4. He wasn't giving props to the personal attack, he was giving props to the picture.
  5. That is the greatest thing that I have ever seen. I was laughing harder than I have in forever.
  6. I'm running for at least half an hour every weeknight. Holding the horn up, doing some stretches and push-ups.
  7. Nope, Cavies were third in percussion in '02. I believe it was the only caption that they lost.
  8. Yes, yes I do. And I know that stamping does warp the bell, I'm just saying that it would be much more enjoyable without all of those lines.
  9. Are you sure they don't sell the CD's anymore? I just looked on dci.org and they still had the CD's listed top 21 from 02 and 03. If they're out of stock or something, I didn't get that far, but they're like 15 bucks each.
  10. I got a 70, missed 3,6,8. The answer I put for 6 was supposed to be the answer for 3. I've actually never heard 6.
  11. Another Troopers announcement: Troopers Executive Director Mike Ottoes and Corps Director Fred Morris are pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Scott Carr as the Brass Caption Head for the 2007 season. "I'm honored to be the Brass Caption Head for the Troopers,” commented Carr. “Their history of excellence and tradition is historic, and I plan to instill those ideals into a new generation of members. This is a fresh start and exciting chapter in the Corps' history, and I want to make it a great one. Heading up the Troopers 2007 Brass Program is the chance I have been waiting for." Carr served as the Assistant Brass Caption Head at the Blue Stars (LaCrosse, WI) for the 2006 season. Carr also was on staff with the Phantom Regiment in 2005. Prior to his teaching roles, Carr marched several seasons with Star of Indiana, Crossmen, Bluecoats, and the Troopers playing contra bass. Carr is the Associate Band director at Owen Valley High School in Spencer, Indiana. He also instructs bands and universities including Indiana State University (Drill Designer), Jasper, Forest Park, Gibson Southern, Vincennes Lincoln, Springs Valley, Lawrence Central, and East Lake High School in Tarpon Springs, Florida. Carr holds a Bachelors Degree in Music Education from Indiana State University in Terre Haute, Indiana. He resides in Bedford, Indiana with his wife Jessica and his 3 old son, Sammy.
  12. I hate how the Yamaha one has shameless plugs though. "At Yamaha, every horn is engraved, not stamped on like many of the other brands, which compromises the metal."
  13. I'm pretty sure that he was. But it would be funny if that actually happened.
  14. I will go with the Music of the Night company front in SCV '89 All of Cadets '00 Ostinato and to the end from PR '03 Star '93 The end when they're hitting the big nice chord, which turns dissonant, I love it
  15. Me too, I believe as someone said, drum corps is marching band, but marching band is not drum corps. So, I answered yes.
  16. Thank goodness I wasn't drinking anything or it would have been all over my monitor. :) Nice quote, but on topic, probably anything would work as long as they stay together.
  17. That is an incorrect statement. Many of the other countries (ie. Japan and England to name two), use a selected group of students, who are weeded to go to college. America tests every student, not just those who look like they have high hopes. This many a time will skew the results and cause this discrepancy.
  18. Does anyone know on some of the top corps how many baritones and how many euphs the corps march. I seem to remember something about Phantom being all euphs. Percentages are fine too, I just thought it would be interesting to see the split. All I know is that the Blue Knights march 11 Baris and 11 Euphs
  19. A couple of them I didn't see at all, so I'll leave them out. 1. Cavaliers: 2006 2. Phantom: 2005 3. Blue Dev: 2006 4. Bluecoats: 2005 5. Cadets: 2005 6. SCV: 2006 7. Blue Knig: 2005 8. Crown: 2005 9. Madison: 2005 10. Boston; 2005 11. Glassmen: 2006 12. Spirit: 2006 13. Colts: 2006 14. Blue Stars: 2006 15. Crossmen: 2006 16. Cap Regi: 2006 Didn't really see anyone after there enough to judge
  20. Troopers 1. I want to be a part of the tradition, HLD that makes up the Troopers. 2. They're just plain amazing no matter how they do. SCV 1. They got me into Drum corps 2. I love their tradition, and their aussies.
  21. Yes, that does help, and yes, the recordings are good! Thanks for the help.
