72_kingsmen
Thank you for all the positive comments and review. Yes, we are working very hard and last night's show was to work out "first show jitters" and other logistical issues such as ideal drum major placement, etc. Some of the folks in the line haven't performed on the field in over 30 or 40 years, so this was an opportunity for all of us to shake (blast?) the cobwebs out in a full-on performance venue. Because of our camp scheduling (this weekend which just concluded, next weekend, and our August camp) we have a number of "out-of-staters" who are waiting in the wings to round out our ranks come August. I'll second that....been 35 years since I did DC as a member of the 72 Kingsmen....lemme say this....nothing like being back in blue and under those lights.....and yes, we did march 18 French Horns on Saturday...welcome back my friends to the show that never ends..... One of the Sops
We got a repreive, there's really 19 days till August Kamp. And 26 days till SHOWTIME. Let's enjoy the ride Kingsmen. The Rose Bowl show is going to be a GAS!It's been great! I'm spoiled now. Even if I joined a 65-man hornline after this, I'd feel like I was in a tiny little drum corps until I (hopefully) got used to it. Gives ya chills! :) Edited July 17, 2007 by One of the Sops

dday
From my post on SCV Alumni list: For all our alumni currently performing with the Anaheim Kingsmen: GREAT JOB Saturday nite, guys and gals. Mambo rocked. Artistry in Rhythm teased. FIREBIRD !!!!! A special gold star to the Rifle line: Get down with the OLD SCHOOL, ladies. Truly impressive. The snareline (100% pure kingsmen, btw) stick work brought back memories of a more visual time. They will definitely be throwing babies at DCI. (though how an exhibition corps got to go on last is beyond me. ;-)) Good luck in Pasadena.
dday
PS: If youre not ready to give up the ghost yet - SoCal Dream and SF Renegades will be accepting applications sometime after Labor Day. Rob H.
Does it matter who goes on when? Although I have to say, I sure do love performing under the lights! and keep your hands off our rifles!
dday
Does it matter who goes on when? Although I have to say, I sure do love performing under the lights! and keep your hands off our rifles! Its kind of a running joke with us West Coast AA corps. DCI-Pacific REQUIRES AA corps to go on first at any DCI sanctioned shows. (the ONLY DCI regional that does this btw. they also dont pay performance fees to AA corps) So basically, we (Renegades, Dream) will only be able to perform under the lights at DCA. Sour Grapes? YES !! B) PS - Can I be a Kingsmen Rifleline Groupie? Pretty please?
