Puppet
I believe it's the Mashantucket-Pequot Tribe if I recall correctly. Funny true story: I once asked a friend who goes to Foxwoods quite frequently how he liked the museum that the tribe has there. His answer: "They have a museum?" Those Pequas were on Long Island (as in Massapequa, one of the many homes of the Sunrisers over the years). There was quite a good competing winter guard back in the 1960's from there, the 'Pequa Squaws.' Oh, and the ship in Moby Dick is the "Pequod." Close, but no cigar. Of course, it's the details that always make a funny story even funnier. And 'Pequa Squaws'? Betcha that's not a name that would go over big here in the 21st Century. Which got me to thinking. Then I stopped. Puppet
TennTux
No Tony... After your initial comment I ran upstairs and dug out my old copy of Last of the Mohicans. I only saw five tribes mentioned in it - Seneca, Mohawks, Mohicans, Algonquins, and Sunrisers. Nothing at all about renegades. LOL.... (We WERE a RCA Corps, maybe we didn't make the final cut. )
Jim White
If you *know* who it is.... please wait a while (not everyone is on here all day or even daily for that matter) If there have been no Guesses..........Then give a *challenging* hint. When giving hints on these try to be creative and just dangle the tiniest tidbit. Make people really think / work on it. Then wait it out a while before tossing another tiny vague tidbit... C'mon we've got to make these last a little longer. PLEASE?? Also, any comments made MUST be made in good taste... this is a fun loving thread... not a revenge match. Please spew your venom elsewhere. Please submit any questions and / or pics in their full size (preferably JPG format), with full description - names, Corps, Stadium, Year... etc. to: The *Guess Who* Mailbox Thanx in advance! All that said and out of the way... Guess Who # 425 ? The guy looks like a young Rodney Dangerfield to me...........
TennTux
Yeah, I remember the Moby Dicks; they were big in the mid-Fifties, although I don't believe they ever won The Dream. Well, you've made Pepe smile... Their drum major, some guy named Ahab, was a real nutcase. The height of his nuttiness was during the VFW Nationals in Boston when he took off his wooden leg and directed the concert with it. Aren't ALL DM's just a little "nutty"?
