JimF-LowBari
I got it from a Sept. 1953 publication. So, I'd guess it's 53 or earlier. Mebbe it's the age of the photo but looks like an integrated group (and I don't mean mixed male and female either). Should be interesting if that's true. Hey when you don't have a clue you take what you can find....

TomPeashey
I got it from a Sept. 1953 publication. So, I'd guess it's 53 or earlier. close enough among friends... key is both baby bari's and french horns, but NO bass bari's which came a few years later... Also that looks like an Oswald tackle twill satin top... tuck in shirt with separate cumberbund... that was the rage in the mid 50's... When we left the WWII helmuts and Khaki's/spats and ascots behind we went to almost that exact uniform... no doubt in different colors... (ours was Gold shirt and green trim with dark green pants and of course, white bucks) I guess I should mention that I'm talking about the Oswego VFW Post 2320 drum corps... named The Pathfinders in 1954 when the new uniforms were bought. gsksun4
My esteemed Sunriser colleague and I at times think alike. I often see that type of hat and think of the Philadelphia area or upstate New York. Aside from the Hurcs of course. Since our queen dismisses PA., I will go with upstate NY for starters. gsksun4
Yes, N.Y would be correct! Would that be near the Finger Lakes region? Perhaps around Geneva?
NanciD
Would that be near the Finger Lakes region? Perhaps around Geneva? Without looking it up... I'd guestimate it's a good 3 or 4 hours away
