rayfallon
No one ever said I was any good at explaining phonetics... (Keep in mind I barely speak English, I'm from Lynn MA. ) Softer sounding? (like "sh" instead of the harder "ch") No one ever said I was any good at explaining phonetics... (Keep in mind I barely speak English, I'm from Lynn MA. ) Softer sounding? gsksun4
How is Roche not pronounced like Roach? They're homonyms (unless that's not politically correct to say any more - I've lost my rulebook). Mah - tee St -aaaa - n Row (your boat) ch. You don't say like Ro chet' or anything do you? Like a la Francais? Marten de la Ro-chet? Mais oui? The Marquis de Sade of the G French horn? I was gonna ask this about the "che", but I'm glad you did first. Very funny Ray, I'm laughing my "cul" off. Edited March 27, 2014 by gsksun4

gsksun4
Anyone who has ever watched Laurel and Hardy, or Our Gang/The Litttle Rascals should be familiar with Hal Roach who was Irish. That's Roach as in Roach coach. BTW, the first roach/Palmetto bug I ever saw in Florida convinced me I needed my 357 magnum. Or a saddle and a whip. rayfallon
Is there something in the water in Big D that we don't know about? I'll never know - you can't drink it - it burns to shower in (but yes, I still do). When I move back in October you and I will have a cold sarsaparilla and discuss the old west. The 7 HAD TO BE Magnificent to be able to live out here.
