triplefunk
BIGGER GUARD.50 guard 64 horns 20 battery 12 pit 2 dm 2 alternates GO GO GO Holy cow... that's just.... wow... too big.
triplefunk
I'd expect to see close 75 horns, then evenly distribute the rest. and having 3 DM's. when getting this big, I wouldn't be surprised to see 2 DM's up front both on a 40. then one in the back on the

Tom Brace
People who are saying the brass for more members aren't really thinking about the question seriously enough. Corps struggle now to fill brass holes when the otehr sections are full. Expect more cymbal lines, it's already bearing out in the announcements. It's also the best way to hold onto that last cut from the snareline for the following season. Ask yourself which sections historically have the most cuts, and I think you have the answere for which section will grow more. At least for the top corps, the days of taking a drummer cut and saying, "Hey there, here's a baritone!" are long over.
whitedawn
Fixed. why larger hornlines are not the answer: - where are those extra 20 horns going to go? - corps (even the "top" ones) struggle every year to fill the hornline as it is. when i marched, we even went with 62 once because we couldn't keep 64 people in the line for more than a day or two at a time. - 20 extra horns = 133% more expenses - you'd have to find like 3-4 more 2nd baritones, and quite frankly competent 2nd baritones aren't exactly easy to find. - 86 can't be that much louder than 64 played really well BUY SOME FLAGS lets go
tromboner42
Although 150 sounds really big, it's only 15 more members. Several top horn lines have been using 72 brass for the past couple seasons. I would expect to see the greatest increase in color guard and then any remainders distributed chiefly amongst the pit and battery.
madscout96
...My prediction...every section is going to stay the same, and every corps is now going to have 17 drum majors! I know you were joking... but in all seriousness, I hope nobody adds a single drum major. Any more than 2 and it seems very high schoolish to me. madscout96
- where are those extra 20 horns going to go? Where are those extra 20 ANYTHING going to go? Next question! - 20 extra horns = 133% more expenses Do you mean 33%? 15 extra flags is about 50% more expenses, 15 more battery is almost 100% more expenses. You're adding expenses anywhere you add people. - 86 can't be that much louder than 64 played really well How about 64 played really well, plus 15 played so-so?
