Jim Alberty
I didn't march with them - and I don't think I'd be worthy to shine their bucks - their Legion Post is at the other end of my block - the Andrews Sabres from Portland, Maine. regards - Jim

For a short time...the Knickerbockers. also Blue Rock, late 60's - 71. St Kevin's Emerald Knights, another great corps. Of course, St Andrew's/Bayonne Bridgemen Trumbull Ct Troubadors and later the Bengal Lancers from the same town. The Elizabeth NJ Polish Falcon Cadets as well hit the Big Time for a couple of years. Probably lots more....

Joe S
You also had Saint Vinny's. If I remember correctly they were from Bayonne. Mike maybe you can help me ? Growing up in Hudson County (NJ.),there must have been 20 corps within a 25 five mile radius. Those were the days . There was a minimum of 2 shows a weekend .Many of the shows on the same weekend had different line ups. The competition was always tight. The season started around the middle of May and ran until Sept. I miss those days Edited November 21, 2007 by Joe S

I miss those days I think you are right about St Vinnie's being from Bayonne though they were more a 50's corps than the OP's 60's-70's. They folded before my time; I think my first drum instructor when I started marching in 1964 marched with them. Back then (the 50's) you also had St Joe's from Newark as a very good corps...again, before my time.
