kevingamin
Consider this: 2007 DCI Division I High Brass - Blue Devils (Dynasty) 2007 DCI Division I High Percussion - Blue Devils (Dynasty) 2007 DCI Division II High Brass - Jersey Surf (Dynasty) 2007 DCI Division II High Percussion - Jersey Surf (Premier) 2007 DCI Division III High Brass - Memphis Sound (Dynasty) 2007 DCI Division III High Percussion - Memphis Sound (Dynasty) 2007 DCA Open Class High Brass - Reading Buccaneers (Dynasty) 2007 DCA Open Class High Percussion - Reading Buccaneers (Dynasty) 2007 DCA Class A High Brass - Sunrisers (Dynasty) 2007 DCA Class A High Percussion - Sunrisers (Dynasty) In short, every North American drum corps music caption champion except ONE used Dynasty instruments. I haven't even looked at Europe or Asia yet.

rmurrey74
Oh, and they have a strong presence in Europe. I would venture to say they've done more to promote American Drum Corps and indoor percussion over there than any other company. They've already sent Blue Devils, Glassmen, and Rhythm X over there. Matrix is going in March. Am I missing anyone?

rmurrey74
Father Ryan HS is also going with Matrix. Thanks! I forgot about Father Ryan. That's a great opportunity for a great high school program. They're the first high school indoor line to go over. Sending indoor groups over is going to be a yearly thing for Dynasty. Slow Adam
Or, they've greatly improved their product and provide customer support like no others. *Customer support like no others by necessity. Build drums that don't break, like Pearl, and customer support is a moot point.

Ya, it was a good year for Dynasty / DEG, but since this is a thread about percussion, consider this: High Percussion by manufacturer since Dynasty Drums made a come back in DCI: 1997 - Yamaha 1998 - Pearl 1999 - Yamaha 2000 - Yamaha 2001 - Yamaha 2002 - Yamaha 2003 - Yamaha 2004 - Pearl 2005 - Yamaha 2006 - Pearl 2007 - Dynasty
rosski47
Consider this:Nearly all corps use Dynasty because they're cheap and Dynasty is eager to sponsor ANYONE who is desperate enough. I'm sure the 12-time world champion Concord Blue Devils are very desperate. And yes, I know the story of their switch to Dynasty, but if they were as bad as people say, then they wouldn't still be with them.
