vibratojr
I dunno....a hat of some sort would've been very nice at DCA in 87! I couldn't see jack-squat as we entered the field. Was it like 2006 prelims? Edited February 11, 2008 by vibratojr
esmenbari
haha 2006 prelims where the hat I was supposed to put on got ripped out of my frozen fingers by the wind? I pulled it out of my "pouch" and my fingers were so cold and wet from the rain I couldn't get a good grip on it, then a huge gust of wind came and pulled it away! see, mother nature didn't want me to wear a hat!! I can't wait for camp this weekend!

84BDsop
Was it like 2006 prelims? Yes and no...depends on what element of the event you look at. In both cases the rain was pretty heavy, although 06 was heavier, MUCH MUCH colder, and windier. However, the field was better in 06 (vanishing lines aside, although we had when when SoCal Dream went on...about the only benefit to being first at the gate)...in 87 the field was a mudhole...we had a black girl in the guard lose her shoes...and we couldn't tell where the mud ended and he legs began (skin tone and mud the exact same shade of brown!)....and don;t forget, we wore white pants...or at least they were white for a bit! If I was to decide which one I'd march again tho, with the same conditions, it'd be 87...I can handle a poor field MUCH better than performing in an arctic monsoon! Highschool
Awesome! The wife has given me "the blessing" for ES Alumni and I have sent my contact info to Jimmy. The strict regiment of 16 hour lip buzz excersizes has begun. Consider this a call out for all past Empire contra alumni to represent! Looking forward to seeing everyone soon, Greg ES Contra '93 '94 '95 and 2007
