Capt Ajax
That is so frustrating. It is hard to believe that kids these days can find nothing better to do with themselves than to out right damage valuable instruments like these. You would have to think that adults would have at least seen the value in what was damaged and try to sell them for money. What these kids need is to get involved with drumcorps so that the corps can teach them what their parents have obviously failed to do. Being a teacher, I see more and more of this as the years go by. Just a lack of disregard and a total lack of respect for each other. Is it possible fingerprints were left? Im sure these vandals have been through the system before. I say, if they are caught teach them to line the field and pick up after he corps after each performance and rehearsal for the year. Make them polish the horns before each performance. Putting them in jail is easy. Making them work for the corps..thats a job and a half. If they miss one day, off to the jail you go. Keep up the good work Crusaders, just another bump in the road. Im sure you won't miss a step Talking last night with a couple of the officers on scene, they dont believe that this was done by children and if it was, they were probably in thier upper teens. We found two of the tuba on top of a coal car that was parked there overnight. Thats a great deal of weight to throw that far. The Technician from the police was able to pull a great deal of fingerprints from the truck but who knows how many of them could be from our own people. Fingers are crossed that we find the Punks that did this. Edited April 23, 2008 by Capt Ajax
Contra Joe
To really describe the carnage we found... I've attached a single picture that will make everyone's heart drop.Thank you to everyone who's offered to help us out. This truly is a shame. I get very angry that these sort of things happen! But you can be rest assured something like this will not stop the Rochester Crusaders from having a GREAT season! This is just wrong!!! Someone needs a good old fashioned Drum Corps "behind" whipping...

soprano4life
Thank you everyone for your support. It wasn't just the Tuba's that they 'had fun' with. This kinda makes me die a lot inside... And I agree lets make these people work for the corps.. Then they will see what it really means to be in drum corps.. Go Cru!!!!
camel lips
Wow guys I think this sucks that this has happened to you. Crime in general is way up,,especially petty crime like this. Not that this is a petty act,,it is not.Just that in grand scheme of things such as murder, rape and armed robbery,,it ranks towards the bottom. Meth heads are much to blame for the stuff. They get addicted to that stuff pretty quick and it takes over their lives. These guys are stealing anything they can that has copper or other metals they can turn the scrap to $$$$ Trailers are being stolen all over the US for use as mobile Meth labs.Ive got two down on the farm and someone tried to steal one of them and they broke into both of them and looted the insides for the copper. This and the theft of the Bushwackers trailer http://www.drumcorpsplanet.com/forums/inde...;hl=bushwackers should be a wake up call for drum corps.I would suggest that any drum corps that are using trailers as a form of storage to discontinue the practice.Yes I realize what a pain it would be to use storage facilities.Storage facilities have their fair share of break ins too but I think the risk of loss is greater with a mobile platform such as a trailer.Just way too easy to jack one of them. Best of luck getting your stuff back and stuff repaired.Wish you guys all the best. This is just wrong!!! Someone needs a good old fashioned Drum Corps "behind" whipping... I fully agree with you there and would support and partake in such a violent act.Ill even help dig the hole if there is anything left of them. K2SMA
Well here's a spooky question... Was the Bushwackers trailer that was stolen the same one they purchased from the Crusaders several eons ago? Even scarier, why do I remember that?
