Just curious as to what year color guard become a caption in and of itself?

My last full year in the activity was 1984 and it was not yet a caption by then.

I wonder how that year would've shaken out if it DID have a caption....we won that one.

Sam, BD did win Guard in 1984. Although there were no scores, the recap lists BD in 1st in Color Guard. Take a peek....Just don't look at the Total Score caption to the left of the Color Guard caption. 1984 Finals Recaps

I remember it, Greg....I was wondering what would've happened if the guard caption had it's own share of points....back then the did not, so our guard winning was for pride only, with some influence in the visual, but the win didn;t have the same impact as winning drums or marching.
