IntheMood
Sop screamer was Chris Metzger . . . watching him in the 70s was a main reason why I decided to take up the trumpet and ultimately play soprano in Madison.I got to march with Chris in the MSARP. Just another example of how generations collided in the project (I got to march with my dad as well), and how awesome of an experience it was. By the way . . . it's all about you Pilot! Thank You. I am sure he has inspired many. Go Scouts!!!

Tupac
just for the record...the tymp to Chris's right is John Baumgartner Phantom's director at large and the one to his left is none other than Dan Guernsey
bass5
Just to be historically accurate here - The Rhapsody "wedge" (as it was called) that is shown is from 1976 and both the U.S. Open program and the shot of Metzger with the timps are from 1974. I believe Chris Metzger marched from 1971 through 1977 and I really wouldn't call him a screamer, he was SO much more. Now back to the 2008 Scouts! GO SCOUTS! Green Fleurdelis
Don found this picture today and checked with the big guy himself and Yes, that's John Georgeson on baritone! The photo is from the 1974 season -- the only season John marched. I went to high school with John and had the pleasure of helping recruit him for the Scouts. The rest is history. The soprano behind John in this photo is Lee Grunz (sp?). This was (I think) part of God Bless The Child. Lee was not our featured soloist (Chris Metzger was soloist), but Lee was part of the jam. Ah. Memories.
