since this activity is subjective, it depends on ones taste. some of my favorite shows might be someone else's most hated show... i would recommend if you already have a favorite corps. check out corpsreps.com and check out some years that they won and download some of their shows from dci.org's ADP service. another route if you don't already have a favorite corps would be to check out which corps does what style music and find one that fits your style.

i.e. blue devils are synonymous with a cool in your-face jazz style

where as star of Indiana have been known to be... well we'll go with "artsy fartsy"

you'll get a ton of answers by the morning... ha ha

some of my personal favorites are blue devils 1993, 2000, and 2004; phantom regiment 2005; cadets 2000; crossmen 1992; cavaliers 2000; 2002

good luck and welcome to the activity!

West Side Story, by the Cadets. All of them, which includes the soon-to-be-released 2009 version.

I can't wait.

I love threads like this because it's a chance to look back -

Here are ten of my favorite DCI shows through the years. I got to see all of these shows live except the first one. (I got to see North Star live alot the following year though).

The thing is, ask me tomorrow and I might have ten different favorites....

Here goes......in chronological order -

1980 North Star - EXCITING OTL and a good example of the practice of building around a great soloist.

1981 27th Lancers - Power and pizazz........my first favorite other corps.

1982 Defenders - I love this show......it's everything I loved about the late 70's/early 80's in one show.

1987 Florida Wave - Fun show from an enjoyable corps.......Florida Wave's best ever.

1987 Garfield Cadets - I'm picking this one because most people will pick different Cadets shows.

1988 Santa Clara Vanguard - If you like hornline, this is you're show. Prefer drill? See 1989.

1992 Glassmen - A really likeable 'New Age' show from a corps knocking on the finals door.

1992 Blue Devils - One of my favorite closers ever. Can you say 'Sultry?'.

1993 Phantom Regiment - The crab step and the ballad. Well done. VERY well done.

1995 Madison Scouts - Everything that was great about Madison in one super package.

Since you're new to DCI Definetly check out the shows that have been suggested so far. Also check out 1979 and 1980 Spirit of Atlanta. The Loudest most powerful Corps ever and watch the snareline's hands over and over again. Astounding!

LOL! The fact is that I'd certainly have Suncoast on my short list too, but I thought I'd let our #1 Suncoast fan say it like only he can...
