from 72 Des Plaines Vanguard and Bleu Raiders i think

73 saw more that didn't make it back like the Black Knights and Commodores

The following year saw Purple Lancers and De LaSalle Oaklands (but they were reincarnated to Oakland Crusaders for 75)

I couldn't come up with 5 finalists for 72,,, or are you talking overall prelims etc?>

"Big Country" for sure, and "Stars & Stripes"

Nope. Skokie Imperials returned to DCI Championships in 1981 (though they had moved to Mt. Prospect by then, thus altering their name a bit).

Meanwhile, the Mariners and Blue Knights (Ironwood, MI) made their only DCI Championship appearances in 1972.

#1 is correct, at least with Stars and Stripes

#8 is NOT correct

#9 is correct

#8 - UOJC members: From Drum Corps Wiki: The corps who were members of the UOJC were made up of the juniors corps of the eastern US. These corps included the 27th Lancers, Garfield Cadets, Boston Crusaders, Blessed Sacrament Golden Knights and Blue Rock.
